i came to gng on an early sunday evening with a couple of friends. we had not booked our tables and were expecting to wait. to our surprise, the restaurant had less rush and we were guided to our tables immediately. we were not asked the usual lingo of "mineral water or normal water" that i personally hate. we were seated in the middle with a device on our table with buttons for "bill", "drink", "order" that seemed a little odd for a fine dine restaurant. maybe the fact that they were short on staff on that day, this would help probably. i personally felt the menu was extensive with basically every item found at every other mid-priced restaurant. it felt amiss. we started with man chow soup. a friend ordered broccoli with cream soup and found it too bland for his liking. the man chow soup was average. for the starters, we ordered baby corn fritters along with the usual masala papads. it was nicely cooked and served. we liked our starter and proceeded with the penne pesto pasta for our main course. we absolutely loved it as the pasta was nicely made with fresh cream and veggies. i felt it came in small proportions and we were not halfway there yet. :p
we went for a north indian gravy aloo paneer masala with aloo parattas. this was our best part of our meal with the perfectly cooked parattas that tasted yum with the gravy. but smaller portions of gravy! we ordered schezwan rice ( that's how we roll. italian, indian and concluding it with chinese). i am not a huge fan of spicy delicacies. nevertheless, i didn't find it spicy. it was normally made without ample fresh vegetables. it was ordinarily made without the aroma and spicy flavour. for everyone of us, schezwan rice was a disaster. the ambience was overall good and the service was great. though i wish they kept an open eye on their guests empty glasses. guess they were only waiting for us to buzz the device! i would definitely come back to this place for its aloo parattas. rest of it, i would still give it a try :d
