great service & food. i met some friends at fork new years eve and even though it was fairly busy, the service was still friendly & fast. we had several people stop by to ask us how we were doing, even though they were not assigned to our table. the prime rib sandwich was amazing - i opted for the homemade chips vs. the rosemary fries, which were amazing.

i also enjoyed their "skinny" cocktails - i tried the mango limeade and it was very light & refreshing, but still had a little punch of alcohol. fork is a great addition to boise downtown scene!

delightful dining experience. we have eaten at fork on several occasions, for both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed in the food. it is quite refreshing to have the owner come to our table to inquire about our meal and service. this is nearly a lost art. the wait staff have been very pleasant and helpful. our last visit was during restaurant week. the meal was good, as expected. but what was quite unexpected was dessert; butterscotch cheesecake! i love cheesecake and take every opportunity to sample it when i find it on the menu. i was intrigued by the flavor. i had not had butterscotch cheese cake before and from the first bite i was sold. it was phenomenal. the waiter said it is locally made! my question is "why isn't this on the menu all the time?" this is truly a winner. please, bring it back.

a new fave. i was introduced to this restaurant via a friend. on this particular night, they were serving the fried chicken with waffles as a special. though i am not typically a "fried chicken and waffles" type of girl, i couldn't pass up the idea. the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the waffle tasted as it should. however, after about five or six bites the sugar, and fried foods hit my blood, and i was done. that didn't stop me from sampling the butter cake about 20 minutes later, which is now a new favorite dessert. i have, since that dinner, returned for a couple of lunch dates. i truly enjoy the sliders and the artichoke and i am sure after i work off the butter cake at the gym i'll be back for more.

nice restaurant having an identity crisis. we entered a lovely restaurant. the atmosphere had so much potential. the concept of high quality local foods so appealing. the tables so close together that two other diners practically sat on my dinner while trying to get in their seats. the food was well prepared and delicious. i was surprised to see sandwiches on the dinner menu and a children's menu attached to a classic menu. like my title implies...this restaurant can't decide if it is a fine restaurant or a pub.

went there on a date night with my wife. the service was good and the overall so was the food. the only low point was there flourless lava vault. the cakes texture was gummy and the ice cream and huckleberry sauce didn't seem to bring the dish together. we will go back again. it is a good date night place.

grilled artichoke was tasty, the fries were great, chicken sammich was good, the salmon was bland and basic. the service left something to be desired. the server never asked if our appetizer was good, if we needed anything with our dinners. he was also slow to take our order.

integrity(??)... we went to the fork on a friday night, party of three (my husband, daughter 19 and myself). at first sight, the place was not completely, as i expected but then i was fine. it took a little while before our server appears, but we were 20 minutes early on our reservation. we had clams and grilled artichoke for appetizers (very good). we ordered raviolis, ribs, and trout for entrées (good flavors). we shared a "chocolate lava vault" for dessert. since the dessert was taking forever to arrive, the server agreed to bring my husband a complimentary glass of wine (we had the same wine during dinner). when the dessert arrived, it was not as it was suppose to be (my husband is a former executive chef). it was runny chocolate soup with ice cream (good flavors). the server acknowledged that they had an "accident" when plating it, but they still served it… however, when checking my bill the next day, i discovered that we were charged $16.25 for the "complementary" glass of wine. we like fine dining and we have no problems spending for a good deserving dinner. however, this meal left a bitter taste in my mouth, when i realized that i had been fooled twice (that i know) during this experience. my husband and i who both work in the hospitality industry take great pride to treat our guests with respect and integrity. this place might provide acceptable food but at what price?

fork is forkin amazing!!!. located in a nice historic building downtown boise, fork delivers on it's potential with a nice environment, great service and amazing food. i went for lunch and had a sirloin pulled pork sandwich accompanied by a nice green salad and the parmesan fries. the pork sandwich was on a fresh locally baked bun. the pork on the bun was sauced, had grilled onions mixed in and mozzarella cheese on top. it was quite messy, but well worth it. it rivaled some of the best pork sandwiches in town. the salad was fresh and crisp and had a nice pesto ranch sauce. the fries were hot, crisp, covered in grated parmesan and served with a mild dipping sauce, everything you want a fry to be. i can't wait to go back and bring my wife for dinner. fork is a must try.

outstanding!. we've had dinner numerous times at fork and each evening was great! we've been so impressed we've brought friends and they've loved it too. the restaurant is very impressive from the moment you walk in the door, the decor, the great people that work in the restaurant, to the delicious food. the salads are interesting and beautiful, large enough to share, and each entre we have had has been exceptional. i particularly love the hagerman trout with kale and my husband has tried several different entres never to be disappointed. we even stopped in with friends for drinks one evening and, kelly m. who, by the way is delightful, suggested we try the butter cake desert. wow - it's so out of this world delicious that i'm wondering if they'll share the recipe!?!?!
the fork is an outstanding and a great new place to dine in boise. make a reservation soon!
