good service, good food, heachache inducing noise!!!. we went to ford's for dinner in may 2011. our server was courteous and attentive. the meal was very good. we would definitely return if the headache-inducing sound level were addressed. our server told us it was the noisy group at the bar.
i read reviews from 2010 about this problem, saying that the management was going to address the issue. but the evening we were there, there were people waiting outside to be seated. my guess is, this problem of not being able to communicate with the person next to you is not hindering business - yet. but this is the obstacle to our return. i asked friends if they had been to ford's and they had, too. but they, like us, will not be returning until they can finally talk with their table mates.
ford's, i wish you only success, but i have seen two other restaurants close in that location. there are new restaurants now open/opening in the area, you may need to finally consider all your customers.

best seafood in the area. ashburn lacks great restaurants. except ford's. the decor is kind of new england lobster kitsch, but who cares? i hate every word in that sentence, anyway! as usual, i keep it simple, but everything i've had was good; however, i did once get a clam chowder that was seriously lacking in clams. can't ever go wrong with fried fish. beware that the the fish sandwich has cheese on it. i find this unorthodox, but still good. i was able to talk with the chef once. i believe he came over from passion fish. there have been rumors that management has changed and quality is not quite as good, but i've seen no evidence of this yet.

great variety of fresh seafood at a fair price. check out their newest location in landsdowne and break with tradition --- go there for lunch. begin with a bowl of clam chowder - it's got plenty of decent sized clams and has a slight hint of bacon to it (as it should). the soup is not overwhelmed by potatoes so you can really enjoy the clams. isn't clam chowder supposed to have clams? it does at fords. then move down the menus and go for the fish tacos with blackened shrimp!! all in all - great spot for lunch if seafood is your mid-day hankering.

best seafood around!. i don't know how they do it but fords has the best fish around! way better than the over priced passion fish in reston town center! i'm not a huge seafood eater and i love this place. my favorites are the fish tacos, and the cod entree. the fries are awesome, too, thin and crisp. great service every time i go and good atmosphere. call ahead no matter the day or time because they are always busy. definitely a local favorite!

brings you back to new england. we love this place and so do all our friends! the food is always fresh. the recipes are traditional and classic. the management and staff are always polite and friendly. we have been to fords at least 15 or more times since they have opened and we have never experienced a bad service. the place is always packed, that should give you a good idea of how fresh and good the food really is. 'nuff said if you like new england style seafood you will love fords.

1. we were sat down at a table.
2. we waited 10 minutes before drink order was taken.
3. we gave drink order and waited at least 5 minutes before the server came back because she forgot part of the order. no water was provided.
4. we received our drinks close to 20 min after seating.
5. we did not see the server again for 5 to 10 minutes.
6. we gave our order and the food came a bit late.
7. the fried portions were soggy from the heat lamp, the fried scallops were raw, and the coleslaw was warm due to the same heatlamps.
8. items cooked on the flat grill had black specks of whatever was cooked before all over the food. lobstah roll is not supposed to have any black flakey ingreadents. (no pepper was not the black items).
8. when informed kitchen of scallops, was told it would be comped.
9. when bill came it was not comped.
10. server was in possesion of my credit card for almost 20 minutes.
11. i do not think the food was worth the money, wait, and hassle.

simply fantastic!. we so enjoyed our first visit to ford's this past friday! as native, coastal new englanders who recently relocated to nova, we hadn't found a good seafood restaurant. ford's surpassed all of our expectations and reset the bar for amazing seafood. the fish and chips were superbly beer battered with quality brooklyn ale. the plate came in a newspaper parchment lined basket with 5 large pieces of beer battered fish, shoestring french fried potatoes, and a sublimely seasoned coleslaw. the accompanying tartar sauce was a simple blend including dill, capers, and some other source of deliciousness that served as the perfect accompaniment to the tender, succulent fish. the atmosphere was awesome - sirius radio filled the air with a great nostalgic sound of 70's and 80's music. the general manager, wayne, was welcoming and attentive. the executive chef and owner was a gem taking a personal interest to insure we were ultimately satisfied with our meals. tony even took time to speak with my eldest son, a 12 yr old aspiring chef, and gave him a confectioner's dream of a recipe for homemade marshmallows. this was truly a delightful experience from beginning to end. on top the fabulous dining experience, the price was very reasonable - less expensive then a cliche red lobster and ions better in quality, service, and attention to detail. everyone should give this place a go. as a side note, they do have call ahead seating.
