best burgers in town!  we usually get the extraspicyburger or the boursin burger and the sweet potato fries are to die for!  this is definitely a family favorite.

i used to love this place! but unfortunately that has passed. the burgers are pretty good (i have had better in wichita). i used to get thisspicyburger with garlic aioli and roasted garlic sauces for dipping. i ordered a bottle to try once, but i wasn't that impressed. the downside of fizz is the service. the waitresses have always been pretty good, although sometimes forgetful. however, the last time i was there, the burger was just okay after tasting others in town and  one of the owners basically tried to get my mom and i to leave, so that they could seat others. we weren't there that long, less than 20 minutes. i am not saying that we wanted to stay there two hours and have a long convo, but don't want to feel rushed either or that we were inferior to other patrons. we could both tell that she wanted us to leave, but now we won't be returning.

not worth the trip. i had the 1/4 lb.spicyburger (extra hot), sweet potato fries (individual size) & water and my wife had the 1/4 lb. mushroom swiss burger, fries (individual size) & a soft drink. our bill was $23 (not counting tip).

three reasons i didn't care for it: 1) hamburger meat was bland 2) fries were limp & not crispy 3) too expensive for what you get.

drove from derby just try fizz burgers upon a recommendation and reviews; however, was disappointed. on a positive note, service was outstanding & the thespicyburger was nice and spicy!

more fizzling than sizzling eats. devoured by the billions daily, the humble hamburger is undeniably among the most revered and exalted american foods. as such, nearly every restaurant serves a burger. but with such massive production and consumption rates, it's hard to find one that sets itself apart from the ever growing desert of unexciting, ordinary ground beef sandwiches. fizz, with its list of house-made toppings and condiments, looks to step outside the generic fast food and casual dining hamburger experience. but before we get to the cuisine, there are a few hiccups you should be aware of with the service side of the restaurant. set squarely in the casual dining category, you'll enter to find the bar. during my visit no host/hostess was present to guide guests to a seat, which is a bit of a problem when there are few seating options available. to worsen the problem, the entire bar staff stood by and watched, unhelping, as my fiancee and i, soon followed by another pair of diners, entered and waited patiently to be seated. the two gentlemen behind us gave up after nearly ten minutes and left, while my companion and i stuck it out. eventually, a, well, let's politely call him an 'uncouth' man asked if we would mind sitting out at the patio dining area. we said no, we wouldn't mind being seated outside...and he walked off to the kitchen, without another word. unsure of what was expected, we seated ourselves and a waitress eventually found us, realized we weren't offered menus, and promptly brought them. with the initial non-foodstuff related issues behind, the remainder of the service was on par for an informal grill (though other patrons who had to address the man from the front were having similar issues). the 'bottles' portion of the name refers to the large inventory of interesting sodas and smattering of alcoholic beverages on hand, which the wait staff will describe if you have a taste for a unique drink. after choosing a soda each, my consort selected thespicyburger and i opted for the house burger, both 1/4 lb and with fries on the side. fizz offers a multitude of sauces for french fry dipping, so, naturally, we decided to sample them all. a few on there menu managed to avoid making it to our table, but garlic aoili, roasted garlic, spicyketchup, ketchup, ranch, and zesty mustard made an appearance. roasted garlic was by far the best, a black peppery mayo with garlic enough to make its presence known but not overcome the palate. the garlic aoli was an odd texture, a bit gummy and tart; more than a hint of lemon had apparently made it into the recipe. zesty mustard was good, a sort of blend between the sweetness and back end bite of honey and dijon mustards.spicyketchup was also good, giving standard ketchup a little extra kick. the others were typical bottled fare. as it turned out, the variety of sauces was quite a blessing; the fries were rather bland, dry, and starchy. the main attraction, unlike the helping of fried spuds, was robust and flavorful upon arrival. and by main attraction, i do not mean the burger. both were fair; the patty formed loosely to retain a soft texture and cooked just slightly past the requested medium, but still moist, though not particularly well seasoned. the undistinguished beef allowed the toppings to steal the limelight. my house burger came armed with the roasted garlic sauce taste-tested previously on fries, and also the standout garlic dill pickles, perhaps the best part of the meal. the mayo got a bit lost as it was lightly applied, but the crisp, definitive flavors of dill, vinegar, and garlic were enough to bring the entire burger up a notch.spicyburger, with its smoked pepper mayo and monterey jack cheese, outdid the house. though by no meansspicy(try the 'extra hot' version if you go), the cheese and roasted pepper flavor from the mayonnaise give the mouth a nice tingle and lend themselves well to the accompanying tomato and red onion. overall, there are some considerable bumps in both service and food to smooth out, but if fizz directs the same attention to detail toward those areas as they do their trimmings they have the potential to roll from hum-ho to out of the ordinary.

great burger. there are two foods in this world that i consider myself as being an unquestioned afficianado; burgers and dogs....and well, i guess pizza also. as far as burgers go, this is a very good representation of what one should be.

the place is in a strip center on north rock road and unlike some of the best burgers i have ever had, this isn't in a run-down, walk-up window order shack. the exterior is inviting, as far as strip malls go, and that is carried over to the inside where the decor is understated with black and white pictures of soda bottles and soda related items hung in black frames and black and white matting. i appreciate that it isn't an assault on the senses with old bicycles, canoes, and sports equipment hanging from every possible empty space. it clearly conveys what they are about. kudos also for having a kitchen that is open and visible. it shows that they are proud of what they do and how they do it not to mention how cleanly they do it.

the wait staff were cheery and accomodating and did a great job of taking care of us without seeming intrusive.

a plus for me is that you can order your burger plain or you can get as much on it as you desire, including items not normally found at other burger joints.
i had the boursin burger and added bacon. i saw on the menu that you could also get cambazola. who else has that? my wife had thespicyburger, we were both much impressed with the flavor combinations of these specialty burgers, but also the juicy beef done just right. i had the regular fries and my wife had the sweet potato fries with all of the dipping sauces. now i like sweet potato fries, but the large amount that you get caused her to get tired of them and start stealing my fries. of the dipping sauces, the only one i would for sure order again was thespicyketchup. the roasted garlic aioli was good, but it was only a maybe on an eventual reorder. the pecan sauce with the sweet potato fries was good, but not something that i would order with a burger very often.

all in all, we loved the place. our 10 year old son is a burger nut and we plan on taking him to fizz because we know he will love it. my only complaint is the price. it is a bit pricy, but when it now costs $7 a person to eat at mcdonalds. then fizz's quality seems like a relative bargain. like another reviewer said, i wish the fries came with the burger and not another $2+ more. but, like i said, we will be going back and i know we will enjoy it again. next time i won't get too full to try the cake balls.

very impressed. the venue is very casual and comfortable. the food was great. my wife had thespicyburger with sweet potato fries. i had the bacon burger with normal fries. the burgers were probably the best i have had in wichita. i have had better fries, but they were still very good. also, they have a great selection of beers and colas.

gourmet burgers. there are plenty of places to get a good burger in wichita, but this one may be the best. lots of different burger options, or you can pretty much build your own. all are available as either 1/4 lb or 1/2 lb. burgers. fries are from scratch and they have several great dipping sauces that you can get to dip them in (i love thespicyketchup). they call it "fizz" because you can choose from a huge selection of bottled sodas to drink with your meal. they've literally got like 8 different kinds of root beer, a half a dozen grape sodas, etc. fun place to eat.

one of the best burgers in town!. my friends and i were hungry for burgers yesterday after all of the christmas shopping madness and decided to stop by and try fizz. i can tell you, that it was one of the best decisions we made all day! i had thespicyburger, which packs a just the right amount of "kick" and was very juicy (helps when the ingredients are fresh!)! the fries were okay, not bad but nothing too special. next time, i hope to try the sweet potato fries, as i hear they're pretty good! hands down, one of the best burgers i've had in wichita!

the burger was juicy and i actually spotted some pink in the middle! hooray, another place that knows how to make a burger better than 5 guys. the cheese and bacon were icing on the cake of this delicious beefy patty. i went with the regular fries, which were nice and thick.it would have been better had they added some more seasoning to the fries, but ketchup made up for that. the only other issue i had was the fact that the burgers do not come with fries, you must order them separately. phil’s parents ordered thespicyand the swiss mushroom. both thoroughly enjoyed their burgers as well. we both really enjoyed fizz and would add it to the list of places to get a good burger in town. you cannot go wrong with a place that serves good beer and good burgers, so go and check it out.

we go once a week!. we live at 37th and rock and, to be honest, we weren't very excited when we heard there was a burger place opening where amici's had been. my family is in the cattle business and there are two things i don't get when i'm out to eat: prime rib and hamburgers. it just normally leads to a huge disappointment no matter how many rave reviews i hear beforehand. i am very excited that fizz is an exception!

we have now been a few dozen times and my husband and i both agree that we think it's the best burger in wichita. everything is hand-made and it really shows. i prefer the house burger made with the roasted garlic sauce while my husband prefers thespicyburger. we always get the regular fries- although we've heard from people that prefer the sweet potato fries- both are hand-cut. you automatically get to pick one of the hand-made dipping sauces to go with your fries (there is no extra charge) so i would encourage everyone to try them. our favorites are the roasted garlic and the garlic aiola.

since we cannot eat burgers and fries all the time- i have also tried the salads. i really enjoy the house salad with the chicken. the chicken still comes out hot from the grill right onto the salad which is how it should be in my opinion! the dressing is a pecan-ranch style with a tiny bit of spice that makes it unique and delicious. it also comes with pecans and home-made croutons.

the cakeballs are good and worth the $2 in our opinion. the german chocolate is delicious.

we have not tried out the other sandwiches or any of many "bottles" of beverages that they serve so i can't comment on that. i was impressed that they have pb&j and macaroni & cheese both on the kids menu.

the service has always been great when we've dined in- we have a small child and they have always been very accommodating. we've also gotten take-out several times and our order has always been perfect when we get it home. we think the restaurant will be great for wichita and look forward to our many future visits!
