affordable, hong kong style chinese restaurant known for its hanging barbeque counter of roast pork, bbq pork, roast chicken, peking duck and other more “eccentric” cuts. come here for the noodle soup and delicious roasted meats. don’t come looking for general tso’s chicken. cash only

sight: mini strip mall, unassuming entrance, ambiance is better for lunch than a proper sit down dinner.

sound: busy for a saturday afternoon with a large asian population of diners.….waitstaff speaks very little english so be prepared to point.

smell: chinese 5 spice. yum.

touch: no sticky tables, (mostly) clean.

taste:

shrimp wonton soup- plump, juicy wontons served in a clear and tasty broth with accents of chopped green onion. serving serves 2 comfortably. you can order with noodles as well.

roast pork-crispyroast pork that was well seasoned and delicious. generous portion and enough for 2 people. chunks of fresh cut pork with crispy, yummy skin. amazingly not greasy. don’t get this confused with bbq pork (char siu) which is roasted in a sticky, red sauce which is also delicious here too.
white
rice- heaping serving, complimentary served hot and fresh.

great stuff. it was a bit concerning upon arrival- not sure we would get into this place at 7:30 on a friday night. it is smaller than it appears in the photos, and it was busy, with lots of people waiting for tables. nevertheless, it only took about 10 minutes and we had a small 4 top for 4 not so small american diners. it was worth waiting for! the wanton soup with shrimp came out first, a nice large bowl with about 16 "dumplings"- very tasty. next the orange chicken and shrimp w/garlic sauce. i was into the orange chicken, large chicken pieces, caramelized chewy orange peel, tasty sauce and broccoli. not so much for the garlic shrimp- as there were far too many celery pieces, and not enough shrimp. well, you cant win them all. this was followed by the bbq pork andcrispyduck combo. wow! of course, you have to work around the bones in the duck, but it is so worth it. service was good- maybe a tad slow but we were in no hurry. we brought our own wine- and not a good one for this meal- but not having to buy drinks, the meal was less than $10 each for four people. i was shocked! i will be back to try more as soon as i am able.
