fiore's cafe

pleasantly surprised. on a recent trip to ocala (first time), i had a hankering foritalianfood and a business associate who had visited ocala before recommended fiore's cafe. i left my hotel with not too high hopes, as this is a beautiful place, but not a place you would expect to have greatitalianfood.

all i can say is wow! this little unassuming place cranks out dishes that would make any true new york'er do a double take! like, did they really make this, am i in the twilight zone?

service was classy, friendly and what you would expect from a good place. the food will leave a lasting impression and harken you back here any time you come to ocala. i played it safe and had a chicken marsala which came over pasta and it was on par with eating at domenic's on arthur ave in the bronx. food came with a generous house salad and a monster house made garlic knot.

needless to say i have eaten there just about every night of my stay and have made it about a quarter of the way through the menu. definitely try this place....i promise....you will not be disappointed!

three visit review. we usually visit three times before reviewing. fiore's is trying hard, but the food is inconsistent. the first visit, the frutti di mare dish has clams and shrimp that were past their prime. the spaghetti marinara, however, was wonderful.

the second visit, the spaghetti marinara was different and not nearly as good as the first time. different cook. the veal marsala was not a particularly authentic marsala sauce . . . it was a classic brown sauce, but without marsala wine. the garlic knots are good. salads are a bit wilted and unremarkable. the house wines, however, are decent and a good pour by the glass.

the third visit was pretty good, if you stay with pasta. the meat sauce was okay. we still like the restaurant and applaud them for trying, but they are going to have to find some good recipes and prepare them consistently to become a good choice initalianfood.

they have begun to clean up the outside and the inside and are making progress. we will continue to try them now and then until we see the consistency needed to become "regulars."

awesome food and very quaint. this little restaurant was driven by for years when we finally "discovered" it. greatitalianfood. service was a little undesirable but the food rocked.

gooditalianfood & atmosphere in ocala. traveling in fl and stopped here for dinner. warm welcome and fabulous garlic rolls. malbec wine mellow. ordered lasagna split for 2 and it was delicious. also the house salad. there were obviously many regulars talking to the owner. whipped cream covered teramisu for dessert with chocolate garnish. altogether very satisfying.

the small, very intimate venue is perfect for a very engaged audience and the terrific talent that showed up was such a treat. what i didn’t expect was that it was a very elegant, upscaleitalianrestaurant with choices from traditionalitaliancuisine, to pizza, and a sort ofitaliantapas.

fiore's experience. .... was not great at all. now i admit we ate there a few months ago, but the service was so poor ! and the atmosphere was cramped and loud. but what really was disappointing was the lack of concern that neither my husband nor i received the correct meal that we ordered. no visit from the manager when they did not have the wine we ordered, no response when the server came back to the table 10 minutes after we ordered appetizers to tell us that they had no calimari (anitalianrestaurant that was out of calamari? really?). no apology from management when the angel hair pasta on the menu was replaced with fettucine, without even asking if that was ok with me. so i'm very hesitant to try them a second time, in spite of the great reviews.

reputable place. my husband took me there for our anniversary, and let me tell you what....i've been craving it ever since!
my mom and dad told us that sometimes for lunch when they don't want to spend to much money they go up there and get the soup and some rolls (the garlic knots are to die for) so my husband and his crew from work went there (they like to try new places) and ordered about one of everything. they said everything was perfect so he was really excited to take me. we went there about a week ago and i got the eggplant parm sub, well the waiter or the cook must of not read it right because they sent out a chicken parm sub and i proceed to take a huge bite and i panic after it hit my mouth because i haven't eaten meat in about 9 years. well we told the older woman walking around and she apologized and put in for me to get another sub and about 15 mins later it came out and it was phenomenal, bestitalianfood around, my husband got some black pasta eel something, not sure, but he ate every last piece. when our bill came they told us that the sub had been taken off, totally surprised me, was very awesome of them. i will go back and probably laugh at what happen and continue to tell everyone how good it was.

so delicious!. hands down, the bestitalianin ocala. i've tried other "italian" fare around town and have been served frozen ravioli covered in commercial spaghetti sauce. fiore's is so fresh and homemade -- how realitalianfood should be. with their bruschetta, warm garlic knots, divine salads, flavorful pastas, and amazing pizzas, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. love it! great for sit down dinner or take out.

white sangria. hands down the bestitalianfood in ocala. their white sangria is to die for! great atmosphere, food & service.

absolutely amazing!!. i have been going to cafe fiore's for a while now and i can truly say it is the bestitalianfood you can find in ocala. the service is very personal, the place is so cute, and the food to die for. i have been sitting outside on the veranda and it is nothing but pleasant. everyone that goes there seem to know eachother i swear. it is truly like one big family restaurant. though their menu is superb, i have always enjoyed the daily specials. they usually offer everything from veal chops to seabass and everything in between and their is always something innovative. for instance, last time i was there i had the seabass and it had a kiwi honey lime sauce (yum) and strawberry risotto. it was so delicious and the presentation was awesome. i almost didnt want to eat it. after taking a picture of it with my cell phone (i couldnt resist), i enjoyed and they do they honestly do the best seabass ever. i would definitely recommend this place for a nice, relaxing, quaint evening out. just try it for yourself and you will be surprised. truly a gem in ocala. best of luck to you guys and keep up the good work. i love to see home grown talent make it.

great food & entertainment. my wife & i stopped at fiore's to see an old friend, frank queen who plays guitar and sings there thurs., friday & sat. he was great as always, the service was outstanding and the food was very good. if you likeitalianfood and want to hear a one man band that sounds like a 5-pc group, stop in and tell frank that ev johnson sent you.

we have been there many times and always have the best service. if we want a greatitalianmeal, we know that us exactly what we will get everytime. luis and his staff are well known for quick service and a great menu. you will not be disappointed!

yummy!!. i have frequented fiore's since they were in their location next door and it is by far the best pie you can get in town. they import their water from ny and the crust is perfect. i am from ny as well and know what real pizza taste like and this is the best you will get in ocala. i recently tried theiritaliandishes as well and was not disappointed. i have tried several of their dishes and they are all fabulous. i will (and have) recommend it to others.

absolutely amazing!!!. i had to sign up and give my personal review of this place. i am shocked that i am seeing negative reviews. first of all, let me begin by saying i am from brooklyn and italian. i definitely know gooditalianfood and fiore's is by far the best you will get in town. i tried this place initially because a friend of mine (who is very picky and usually only recommends restaurants out of town) said that this place was a "must try." she was not wrong. i learned that they recently relocated to a larger location and the word has spread fast. apparently before, they only sat about 20 people and now they can seat triple this amount. they seem to be ironing out a few kinks; however, the service was amazing, the staff was professional and friendly, and the food was to die for! i had the chicken special and my friends had their seafood linguini with the squid ink tinted pasta and the lasagna. the sauce was incredible and authentic. the rolls were the best i have ever had and not to mention the restaurant is beautiful!!! i am no attorney and had wonderful service and the price was worth every penny. you can tell this food is all fresh and prepared with care. i will definitely be going back (probably 2 or 3 times a week) and will be spreading the word. great job fiore's and thanks for bringing a little class to downtown.

best food period. my wife and i visited this mom and popitalianrestaurant because we had heard that they had amazingitalianfood. well, i was honestly not prepared for how good this food was. i had the chicken parmigiana and my wife had the chicken and spinach ravioli (similar to carrabba's mezzaluna). the table across from us had the 18" pizza and would not stop raving about how it was the best pizza they had every eaten. we both were amazed at how good the food was. we both use to work at carrabba's about six years ago and ate there all the time because of the discount. i can tell you that the quality of food is better and the service is also better. the owner came to our table and talked to us several times. the place is small but is well worth a trip. please don't take my word for it. eat there for yourself and make up your own mind. but i tell you, if you likeitalianfood i am confident you will like fiore's cafe.
