fentons, in oakland is agreatplace to be especially when you are tired of the day and you need somewhere good to chill off and have a nice with  the food of your choice.

this place is a classic spot in oakland. a fantastic place if you want quality ice cream and a wide variety of flavors. often very crowded so you should plan ahead of time before going. the food is also reasonably good, and not too pricey. featuring a basic american style cuisine.greatplace to bring your kids and/or to have parties. you should at least try this place once

great ice cream & ambiance - food only so-so. this has long been a favorite local hang-out (going back to my high school days).greatold-timey atmosphere, and fun for groups. ice cream is very good, while the burgers/fries are only so-so.

a classic!.greatfood, killer ice cream. staff and service was very friendly. no surprise they've been around since the 1800s!

toasted almond fudge ice cream perhaps the new super food?. my folks went to cal and i grew up in the east bay, as such fenton's was the go-to spot for ice cream and grilled tuna sandwich's. i've been back more recently as an adult and it's stillgreat- although i skipped the meal and went straight for a toasted almond fudge black and tan, which rivals any neo-ice cream concoction out there (except for perhaps molly moon's salted caramel in seattle, which is my new fav)

this place is delicious!!!greatfood, yummy ice cream in any flavors u can imagine, and a very cool parlor atmosphere!! highly recommended!!

go for the ice cream, fer chrissakes.greatold-fashioned ice cream parlor vibe. the black and tan sundae is a sight to behold and so tasty you won't mind the extra 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer tomorrow.

wasgreatback in the day. ever since thegreatfire of fentons the food just doesn't taste the same, and the prices are incredibly high. i give fentons kudos for still making their own ice cream, but by the time i finally get a table, find a waiter(ess) to take my order, and get my food not only will my ice cream be half melted i'll have been there for nearly 2 hours. plus i'm not a huge fan of screaming sticky kids, and at fentons, there's a lot of them.
