everything was delicious. even though, it was a special event, all of the food is on their regular menu. next time i go, i want to try the lamb chops. hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later.

ok, memphis, if you have not tried felecia suzanne your missing something special. chef felicia was emeril's bam apprentice and she runs one of the tightest kitchens in memphis. she is in the kitchen expatiating and really working the line.  i loved it!

food: good. service: not good. would not recommend.. we visited tonight, 5/30. we booked an 8pm reservation because when we called a few days earlier 7:30 was not available. however, when we arrived at 7:45, more than half the restaurant was empty. i am not complaining, i just found it odd that they could not take us earlier when they obviously were far from full.

we were seated almost midway along the north wall to the right of the entrance. in summary, this place is nothing to write home about. the food was good; the service was mediocre to downright poor at moments. it started with the host, where all great dining experiences are supposed to begin. the host seemed completely uninterested in our arrival - no greeting, no words uttered, no expression, nothing - uninterested that is until the young women next to us showed up. then he seemed pretty engaged - with them anyway. oh, he did quickly but silently grab up our credit card at the end of the meal, so i guess he was at least a little attentive.

our waitress was good, but we sat for a fair bit of time before she came around. it was obvious she was a little embarrassed that nobody had acknowledged us. the waiter (apparently no dedicated wait staff, which is fine) was okay but not great. he didn't say much or offer any explanation about anything unless we asked.

with the exception of the woman that helped wait on us and a few of the polite kitchen staff (they were the highlights), we were pretty much ignored throughout dinner. this was surprising considering the host that took our reservation had made a big deal over the fact i mentioned we were coming there for our anniversary. as someone that has traveled extensively and experienced fine dining in a lot of places, this was not 'it'. too bad we chose this place for our anniversary.

the food was very good, but the overall experience at a place like this should be as good or better and it wasn't. i do not plan to visit again and would not recommend to others looking for a service-oriented experience. there are too many other good choices around town with several within walking distance of this place.

best meal in memphis. ate at felicia suzanne's last night. we ate the nachodoches meat pies as an appetizer and were the best all time rendition i have ever eaten! (and i am from louisiana!) the deviled eggs were excellent, and the oysters bienville, very good. the mushroom bisque was excellent. even the toast point that came with it was memorable. the served suggest the lamb chop, and i am very happy he did, as it was an all time winner. i picked the bones clean. for dessert, we shared a strawberry chocolate dish that was fabulous, a blueberry cobbler that we fought over, and another peppermint ice cream with chocolate brownie dish that was out of this world. i have lived in memphis for 4 years now, and eaten at many of the better restaurants in town, and i must say that the meal i had last night was head and shoulders above every other meal i have had in memphis!!!!! truly! finally, the drinks were good. my scotch on the rocks was generous, and the house cabernet was very good. i felt like i was back in new orleans.

we heard a lot of mixed reviews but we wanted to try somewhere new for our anniversary. the interior is nice with a well decorated courtyard. however, i didn't like how close we were to other tables. like, butt in someone's face when you're getting out of your seat or when a server is assisting another table close. i'm not sure if the back is the same way. our server was nice but there were several different people that came to the table, it was easy to forget who she was if it wasn't for the uniform. the waitress took our order, a separate person came with bread, another person came for drinks even though we told the server what we wanted, someone else came with food and another person, i guess the manager, came to ask how was everything and the hostess came by later. we didn't ask for anything unnecessarily specific or complaining so i'm guessing that's just routine.
the food didn't take too too long but presentation was very nice. i had a manly steak lol and he had the duck. my steak looked nice and the parsnips were a nice touch but there was a lot of fat in the meat. he liked the veggies that accompanied the duck more than the meat itself. both dishes had nice presentation. our sweet potato casserole order didn't get put in with the entrees so it came later as a dessert. it was ok but i think nuts would've done more for this dish. overall, this visit was...ok. the food was alright but the seating is tight and there was a lot of table traffic, especially for a small seating area.

very loud dining space in back, seated at very end of restaurant closet to kitchen next to a wall with crowded elbow space and i'm not a big person, felt like zero atmosphere, disappointing since was for anniversary. ask for front of restaurant when making reservations! otherwise you may feel herded in when they're busy.

the bread came out quickly and was good, but they never offered to give us more. the deviled eggs arrived with pieces of paper napkins stuck to the bottom. had to peel little bits of paper off the bottom to eat! so, paying $150 for the three-course meal for two for valentine's day and it starts like that?  also, hated the taste of the deviled eggs.

the green tomato and bacon salad first course was better but not that crazy great. there was a very long lull between the first course and second course. the trout was  good, and the only thing i ate most of and didn't get tired of before the end. another really long lull before the dessert arrived. had the chocolate fudge with peanut butter gelato. got tired of it and i'm a dessert person.

avoid on valentine's day. (plus, you have to pre-pay for the entire thing including tip a week before.)  the take-home dinstuhl's strawberries were a good touch though and they did make some effort to decorate the tables.

the server kept the water glasses full, but didn't offer coffee at the end. he did offer plenty of suggestions though. maybe this is just a curse of valentine's day and it's normally better. i'm not sure, but it felt a bit pretentious for the level of food you actually get. and, fellow diners, keep your voices down. this isn't a shouting match.

we went to felicia suzanne's for dinner last night and were totally disappointed with the food. i had high expectations from reviews and the fact that she had trained with emeril. but the food was mediocre at best. we had to add salt and pepper to everything except dessert. the gumbo was the worst i have ever tasted and i sent it back after one bite. salt and pepper could not even fix it. the service was great and i liked the atmosphere. the funny thing is she sells her seasoning mix at the bar. but i am afraid that it is not used in the kitchen.

disappointed. i will have to say i had high hopes for this visit, but those soon turned to disappointment. the overall service from the staff was ok, and our waiter did a good job taking care of us. my wife and i are not food experts by any stretch but the overall quality of the food is what left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. we don't mind paying $$$ prices for good food, but overall i would give our food a mediocre rating at best. we started with the 'gulf oysters of love" and although they were great it unfortunately went downhill from there. i had the turtle soup which was very bland and a bit cold. my wife had the scallops and said they were just ok....i had the rib eye and it was probably the biggest disappointment of the night. it was a very fatty and tough cut. the sauce over the top totally covered the plate and in my opinion took away from any flavor the steak might have had. hate to say we will likely not be returning and i really looked forward to eating there.

the food was good but the front of the house needs to get their act together. my experience started with my attempt to make a reservation. on their website they request that you email so, i sent an email with the date and time i would like to eat. after 3 attempts the person handling the reservations got the correct date. when we arrived for dinner, our table was not ready despite the fact that there were several empty tables. we waited at the bar for 35 min. when we were seated we waited 25 min to get our drinks and an additional 20 to even order. after ordering and eating our appetizer, we were informed that 1 of the items a person in our party ordered was no longer available. we had to go through the ordering process again. while all this is going, i order wine. the waiter brings back the wine list to confirm the bottle that i wanted because they had 2 from the same vintner. even after he confirms which bottle i wanted, the waiter brings the wrong bottle. when get our check, the waiter had charged us for the entrée that they were out of in addition to replacement and the more expensive bottle of wine which i specifically told him i did not want. the food was good but not worth all of this hassle. i will not be returning. i will spend my money at iris, erling's or andrewmichael.
