so i’m kind of achicken& waffle addict. i lovechickenand i kinda love waffles but put the two together and drizzle sauce on top and i’m all over it. i’m a big fan of sweet and savoury dishes and i find no meal quite as satisfying as this brunch combo. i’ve tried a lot ofchicken& waffles in this city, my favourite was at the (now closed) little district on lonsdale. a lot of these dishes were good but very few were great. so i was skeptical when a family friend, who i ran into while having brunch at the restaurant next door to feast, told me i had to try thechicken& waffles at the place next door.

pricey. i used to go to feast often. most time i go because of their fried chicken. however, after their "invention" of a new menu, the quantity of friedchickenis reduced, almost half of the original size, despite the high price.

feast...not so much. dinner at feast is not for the hungry. if you are looking for a nice meal with - you know - maybe a vegetable of two on the plate, this is not the place for you. feast "feeds" you tiny portions of pretentious nothing and charges you extra for vegetables (although nobody bothers to mention that there will be no accompaniments on the plate to begin with). what happened to ordering a meal and feeling like you have actually eaten at the end? with menu items that suggest comfort food, such as meatloaf, friedchickenand curry, one might expect to feel the satisfaction of eating a delicious home cooked style meal. oh contraire! the tiny morsels of food that make it out of the kitchen are barely enough to fill a small child, and are frankly nothing special. this is a don't bother restaurant - hope it gets replaced soon by something better.

we just went to feast for the first time and are excited to have a new restaurant in the dundarave area. they've done a great job renovating the space. the hostesses were friendly, accommodating and they made room for our baby stroller even though the restaurant was starting to fill up. we started by ordering lattes but the latte machine wasn't in yet so we had a drip coffee and hot water with lemon (tip - until your latte machine comes in, recommend coffee and baileys instead and everyone will be happy). my husband and i ordered the burger and friedchickensandwich with fries. the burger was tasty but the friedchickenand fries both tasted like the oil that they were fried in. the fries were also quite dark - they both really tasted like old oil. maybe they weren't cooked at a high enough temperature? in addition, the food is a bit standard for such high prices. we love high end restaurants and will gladly splurge for a good meal but $20 for a piece of friedchickenon a lunch menu with no side? $12 for a tiny bowl of soup? overall, we probably wouldn't come back for lunch. we'll give it another shot for brunch but won't be running back. on a side note, we noticed that most of the customers were wearing their jackets because it was quite cold inside the restaurant and a soft-close should be added to the front door because each time a waiter goes out to serve on the patio, the door slams with a bang (both easy fixes). hopefully these are just kinks that are being worked out and our next time will be better. we'd love to have a great new addition to the neighborhood so please keep improving!

very enjoyable night out!. my husband and i dined on saturday night. we like how they have remodelled this formerly popular restaurant location which is now an open, inviting room with a rustic/modern twist and good atmosphere. we ordered the muscles to start which were incredible -- large, juicy, fresh and beautifully cooked in a white wine tarragon sauce that was exquisite . we then shared their friedchickenwhich was crispy, juicy and tasty but i think their signature batter needs more work. i could taste sugar in the batter which i did not like and generally i found it uninspired. the side of asparagus and mushrooms we ordered to go with thechickenwere cooked perfectly and a perfect accompaniment . the crème brûlée was our dessert of choice and it was creamy and delicious as were the fresh coffees. our waitress was terrific and very attentive -- they were obviously trying very hard and we had a very enjoyable evening. the two delicate chocolates that came with the bill were superb and a very nice touch. we will definitely return to this very nice addition to the dundarave neighbourhood

...chickenvery tender and juicy, but sadly salty; skin crisped ok, not the crispest skin ever, but definitely not bad; didn't get the bacon at all in the waffle though there were specks of it throughout; texture of waffle passable...

best friedchickeni've ever tasted!. i had heard about this new restaurant from some friends, so decided to check it out. they are newly opened, and some decor construction still going on (decor is beautiful by the way), but i was very pleasantly surprised at the wonderful quality of food and the friendly service. i just generally liked the vibe of the place. ordered a side of truffle mac & cheese first, followed by a most delicious friedchickendish....probably the best friedchickeni have ever had! unbelievably good! i recommend feast to anyone and i will definitely be returning!! well done folks!

worth the drive. have made the trip to dundarave from vancouver twice to try feast, just after opening for dinner and on sunday for brunch. great room and patio, comfortable, good buzz, attentive service and delicious food. definitely try thechickenwith waffles if you go for brunch and try to snag a seat on the patio. agree with the other reviews that this a great addition to the north shore. on another note... find it bizarre that someone that's never been there would take the time to post a review based on hearsay. btw mean ladies, perhaps you were there, perhaps not, but if you were you'd know the chairs are obviously made of wood and not metal, and very comfortable.

when we visited feast, dundarave’s new neighbourhood bistro, it was abuzz with a patronage of girls in sleeveless blouses and well-appointed older couples, all gathering for oysters on a pretty patio bordered by herb-stuffed planters. for starters, avocado and beet fries ($12)—unusual and additive in a crispy light batter—and hearty crab cakes ($21.50). mains are elegant comfort food by chef kayla dhaliwall, like fusilli studded with smoky octopus slices ($24), squash curry with black rice ($22) and fast-food style friedchickenin a batter spiked with paprika and frank’s red hot, served with a flacon of gravy ($22). feast's ambiance comes from reclaimed wood furnishings and a baby-boomer slow-dance soundtrack (prompting a fellow diner to exclaim, “i haven’t heard this song since high-school dances!” with a wistfulness we’ll presumably one day feel for nelly’s “hot in herre”). current o
