neverending love for seafood, and how can you skip it what you are in a city right next to a river?? here i am having the mild white fish sandwich, the perfect battered fish, crispy in the outside and soft and juicy on the inside.
loved the fact that the food served is really fresh, and omg, their variety of pie is amazing. a must tryplaceof you are in fort myers.

good simple southern breakfast. fast service. pleasantplacewith plenty of staff on hand. plenty of fmpd customers so it's safe. country fried steak very good as was gravy.
good value so why eat at chain overrun with seasonal residents looking for something for nothing.

highlights: greens (perfectly cooked, and not over seasoned), sweet potato fries (again- perfectly cooked, not greasy not thin), pickled beets (great balace of pickling and a nice sweet beet), water (soft-mouth feel), and sweet tea (fresh, bright tasting, definitely sweet but not like syrup- perfect!) service was amazing- really- and theplacehad a very friendly neighborhood feel to it. it is also exceptionally cheap (which really saved this review- who expects homemade everything at less than $10 per plate?)

meh: black eyed peas (bland, but they tend to absorb the taste of salt, so that's understandable), peaches (canned?), mac-n-cheese ('homemade' style you could find in the frozen section of a grocery store, but they chose the tastiest of those. i wouldn't serve it if it was my restaurant, and of course, it's not as good as mama's)

needs a lesson: fried chicken (dry and greasy) and fried green tomatoes (heavily greasy, cooked to mush- i make them all the time, and this is *not* how they should turn out)

out of this world delicious: coconut cream pie (yum! it was too elusive to capture on film: it vanished as quickly as it arrived.)

farmers market restaurant, edison ave., ft. myers, fl., here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.

folks if you wish to get your tummy filled , have great food and not break you wallet...this is the place.

everyday they have a special.. thursday.... is chicken and dumplings. with 3 sides and roll or muffins.

only $12 bucks..mmmmm good.

i got 1 of each a corn muffin & roll. freshly baked and served hot with real butter

the chix & dumpling are house made... do not expect the meal to be rushed out. grand food takes time...it is simple fare but oohh so good.

sides. green beans with a big chunk of bacon or fatback( look at my photograph)

delish corn fritters .... a southern favorite fried green tomatoes.

when you come here and you must...it is crowded with folks that have not missed too many meals...lol...like me. plus you are sure to find law enforcement personnel with a variety of government workers.

the staff is running around like busy bee's... giving supreme service.

oh yes, do not do, what i did... i failed to leave room for the pies!!!!

if you have not been here...you must bookmark it and go.

but go hungry.

good ole southern fare. i have been searching for good places to eat for 2 years.... i have never heard of this place. they do no advertising except with the sign out front. thisplacehas been here since the 50's. it kinda in middle of no where. just industrial stuff around. when i arrived at 1220 pm on a wednesday the parking lot was full. when i entered there was a crowded & noisy room with a line at the door for seating ...and take out.
it was primary seniors, regular people, political folks and a gaggle of lee co. deputy sheriffs.

the cuisine is southern food.. the corn muffin as good as mine good biscuits fluffy.
so we are talkin stick to the ribs real food. no calories counters here. fried chix, smothered chix, smothered pork chops, prime rib, country ribs. etc.. with 3 side. i had mac & cheese, collard greens, and some of the best restaurant mash potatoes and gravy in recent history.. they listed about 8 sides..

so if you are a real foodie and not a foo foo on décor. seek thisplaceout.

the farmers market restaurant, edison ave, fort myers, fl., here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat. i went southern style  and got  3 sides with fried chicken with rolls and muffins. omg the rolls were light airy coated with butter. but that did not stop me from adding more butter. corm muffins bursting with corn flavor. best i ever had and more butter goodness...i got the collards greens bit of bacon or pork with some onion . good for the dietary track. the cheesey macaroni & cheese so smooth. the perfectly balance cole slaw. crunchy creamy delightful. and for me a crispy chicken leg/thigh... ( white meat is 50 cents extra)
chit chat... this is the oldest eatery, 1952, in fort myers. at any time you will see a judge or mechanic seated near each other enjoying time honor southern cuisine.   maybe a deacon or a bail bondman. everyone is welcome. oh lets not forget the great dessert, pecan, apple or keylime pie.
plenty of nice servers large parking lot and reasonable prices.
this is a must for tourist local and foodies a like. even the snooty ones from down in naple can enjoy great food at good prices. ( they can save 25 cents a gallon for gas here in lee county)
so enjoy....

farmer's market - yum!. consistently delicious every single time!!!! you won't leave hungry. on thursday, chicken and dumplings are on special and they come with 2 sides (must get mac & cheese and either collard greens or fried green tomatoes). lunch is served with a cornbread and biscuit basket. omg it's so good - i crave it weekly!!! i stopped in for breakfast yesterday and 3 slices of bacon, fresh biscuits, hashbrowns that accompanied my fresh egg was divine! don't be on a diet and go in here, unless you're on adkins. theplacehas been around for 50 years and its because they have the best food in town!
