great place, unfortunately provel. this place was highly recommended to me by a friend and reviews are consistently great, so i schlepped all the way down manchester (faraci is almost to clarkson on manchester) to give this place a try. for starters, it looks like it is in an old taco bell, not the best "ambiance". when we walked in, we were told that the wait for pizza would be close to 45 minutes. i think that was really nice of them to give us the "heads up" in case we didn't want to wait. wait staff was very friendly and seemed to know most of the customers. places with regulars are usually great, so i was very excited. we ordered a small dinner salad (mushy oil and vinegar similar to pasta house and rich & charlie's - not my favorite), garlic cheese bread, and 2 small (12 in) pizzas. my first indication that things were about to go very wrong was the cheese bread. it was made with provel! i couldn't believe that none of the reviews had mentioned that the pizza was st. louis style with provel. anyway, the garlic cheese bread was fine except for the provel, but since i'm not from stl i really can't handle provel. my husband, a stl native, was happy. the pizza finally arrived very close to the 45 minute wait that we were warned about. they do thin rectangular pizzas here, covered with ickyprovelcheese. the crust was fantastic, obviously homemade with a great family recipe. it was super crispy on the edges and held up fine in the softer middle. i couldn't detect any sauce because of the soupy provel, but i'm sure it was there. toppings were fine. faraci does a brisk carry out business and they obviously have a devoted clientele of regulars, but i was incredibly disappointed. i just can't enjoy any pizza withprovelcheese. i can highly recommend to anyone who does likeprovelsince my husband loved it. he said it reminded him of rigazzi's, whatever that means. for those who don't like provel, i am glad to provide the one review that will help you to stay far, far away.

wonderful pizza. if you are looking for a homemade pizza stl style then look no more. faraci is the best pizza around. they are friendly and try their best to be speedy. going there you must understand if you want the best you must be willing to wait a little longer than some of the chain places that pre-prep everything and even pre-cook some of your food before you order it. you will not find that here. when you order your pizza, your dough is rolled out, sauce goes on plenty ofprovelcheese and then toppings. then it enters the brick oven. this is why it taste so good, it truly is made to order. look on the facebook page and you will see pictures of how they make their food daily for their customers. enjoy.

hmmmm.... not what we expected.
we looked online and saw a 94% and figured we'll try it.
we ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza, the crust was like a cracker, the sausage tasted like domino's, the cheese aprovelblend, sauce tasted like tomato juice and the mushrooms were from a can.
i'm surprised "restaurant impossible" hasn't been called in.

faraci pizza in ballwin is one of the restaurant gems in the heart of west county and holds our top spot for thinprovelpizza. the family has been making italian influenced pizza in saint louis for decades. they used to be located in florissant but decid
