great place, unfortunately provel. this place was highly recommended to me by a friend and reviews are consistently great, so i schlepped all the way down manchester (faraci is almost to clarkson on manchester) to give this place a try. for starters, it looks like it is in an old taco bell, not the best "ambiance". when we walked in, we were told that the wait for pizza would be close to 45 minutes. i think that was really nice of them to give us the "heads up" in case we didn't want to wait. wait staff was very friendly and seemed to know most of the customers. places with regulars are usually great, so i was very excited. we ordered a small dinner salad (mushy oil and vinegar similar to pasta house and rich & charlie's - not my favorite), garlic cheese bread, and 2 small (12 in) pizzas. my first indication that things were about to go very wrong was the cheese bread. it was made with provel! i couldn't believe that none of the reviews had mentioned that the pizza was st.louisstyle with provel. anyway, the garlic cheese bread was fine except for the provel, but since i'm not from stl i really can't handle provel. my husband, a stl native, was happy. the pizza finally arrived very close to the 45 minute wait that we were warned about. they do thin rectangular pizzas here, covered with icky provel cheese. the crust was fantastic, obviously homemade with a great family recipe. it was super crispy on the edges and held up fine in the softer middle. i couldn't detect any sauce because of the soupy provel, but i'm sure it was there. toppings were fine. faraci does a brisk carry out business and they obviously have a devoted clientele of regulars, but i was incredibly disappointed. i just can't enjoy any pizza with provel cheese. i can highly recommend to anyone who does like provel since my husband loved it. he said it reminded him of rigazzi's, whatever that means. for those who don't like provel, i am glad to provide the one review that will help you to stay far, far away.

the worst!. i don't normally bother writing a "take down" type of review, but in the case of faraci's pizza i feel like i need to warn everyone who may have read positive reviews online to rethink what they're reading. i've had pizza from coast to coast, and certainly everywhere in st. louis. i finally made a 45 minute trek from downtown st.louisto try this place, based upon positive reviews online and the fact that the place has apparently, somehow, been in existence since 1968. i immediately regretted my decision. this is possibly some of the worst pizza i've ever had. anywhere. ever. it's not that they may have had a bad day or anything like that. this is just some awful, low quality, garbage food. i don't care if the recipe is 100 years old, this is just awful pizza. if you appreciate good pizza, try places like talayna's, ami's, pi, dewey's, lapizza, blackthorn pub, pizza a go go, and so on. faracis is nowhere near this quality of pizza, this is more like totino's or something you might buy at a gas station. it makes little caesar's seem like fine dining. you've been warned.

good pizza long wait. a small family owned place. the workers seem to know a lot of the regulars which is nice. the salad is ok. iceberg, parmesan, red onion, oil and vinegar. needs some veggies and croutons in my opinion. ordered bacon, tomato, and garlic pizza and it was delish. good st.louisstyle thin crust and gooey cheese. the negative, both times we waited a long time for a table at a non-rush hour time with lots of empty tables and then waited another 45+ for the pizza. don't take small children!

st.louisbest hands down is faraci pizza west county. if you want the best pizza in st. louis, & i mean the best,go no further than faraci pizza in west county. they been around since 1968 and some of my best childhood memories is my family going to faraci's. it's not just the food that brings you in, ( omg, your taste buds go crazy) the faraci family makes you feel like family. the place is warm & cozy and if there's a wait, who cares, that just tells me it is well worth it. so relax, your hanging with friends, grab a beer, and enjoy, you are in for a real treat. love it!

this is indeed st.louispizza. it arrives on a rectangular aluminum tray, either 12 or 14 inches long. (a 7-inch is available at lunch.) crust? thin. very thin, and crisp to the point of crackling at the edges. the faraci brothers say they take three days to be sure the dough has the proper number of rises. the sauce, slightly chunky and a little garlicky, gives more to the whole flavor than does the cheese. yes, provel, although not in an overwhelming ratio to the sauce. at some points, the two mingle to produce streaks of a cheddar-colored orange, but the melt is too smooth to be cheddar.

yum!. i grew up with faraci's pizza in ferguson. i was so pleased to learned that when i moved out west, so did they! there is no other pizza in the st.louisarea that can compare to the quality and taste of faraci's pizza. even my old high school friends still brag about how good their pizza was/is. faraci's is an icon in st. louis. seriously. go there. eat their pizza. you won't regret it. order a take home for your breakfast in the morning too!

the best out west!. my family's favorite pizza restaurant in the st.louisarea is by far faraci's! their yummy, crackery crust is topped with the best sauce i have ever had. their quality is consistant and the staff always friendly. they do offer a few different pasta choices as well which are also fantastic. we usually order a half bacon half sausage with a dinner salad (simple but delicious!) definately worth a drive to the ballwin/ellisville area to try. however don't come on sunday, they are closed.
