did i say"fat" u like fat-great. four of us were very hungry after visiting mr. jacksons home place. three of us ordered the texasbrisketand one the pork plate. for those of you that gave this place great reviews you do not know bbq plain and simple. this is the worst bbq and fattest meat i have ever seen. thebrisketwas like an accordion. i have ate bbq from texas, colorado, tn and florida and famous dave's is the worst i have seen for taste and fat. i even seen him on pit masters so i talked the family into going here. the cornbread muffins come out in a cupcake paper and are more like cake (flour) than cornmeal. no one ate their meal and asked to see the manager. she was very nice and helpful, she offered to find us more suitable meats etc. for that we thank her. we declined and the bill was taken away. if you are ever in the conroe,tx area go by a place called sticky ribs bbq and order their brisket. they have mouth watering brisket, best i ever had and bennets in co for ribs. i have to admit i will never go back to a famous daves. i strongly urge you to test their food first if you decide to go.

i ordered the "two meat bbq combo", which comes with your choice of two meats, two sides and a corn bread muffin. for my meats, i ordered the bbq roasted chicken breast and the texas style brisket. thebrisketwas smoky and tender and amazing. you could see a nice pronounced smoke ring and a little bit of char on the outside crust. i wish i would have ordered something else instead of the chicken. it wasn't bad, but for some reason in my mind i was hoping or thinking it would be pulled chicken off of the smoked breast. the meat was slightly dry, and i hate dealing with chicken bones but i doused it in different kinds of bbq sauces that they have at the table and it was good. for my sides i ordered the mac and cheese, which was gooey and cheesy like it should be, and the garlic red-skin mashed potatoes. i am also really picky when it comes to cornbread because although it's supposed to be slightly "crumby", i still like it to be sticky enough that it holds together when you try and eat it. this corn muffin did just that.

decent for a chain place. s l o w service. ate there at 2pm saturday afternoon, may have had 4 other tables of people. took ten minutes just to get our drink order.brisketis dry and tuff , cooked too fast. pork was decent. ribs were good but cooked till soft. ribs should have to be bitten off the bone. probably won't be back.

great "famous" service. i don't usually review chain places unless they excel or disappoint (more than they typically do.) before moving to nash, famous dave's was the only q in town, so we had more than our share. i've usually found it pretty good, and like the selection of sauces. here in nash, we prefer the abundance of local q joints, and don't go to dave's much again. but, we have been to this location before, and now once more. both times the service had been a home run. attentive, helpful, friendly and not intrusive. it's a model for other places to follow. (thank you savanna, and the hostess and manager who's names i didn't get.) their q is pretty solid with good flavor. rib tips are my favorite (moist with a little bark) and pretty popular with others.brisketis moist too and both have a nice mild smoke flavor. sides are about average, though the cornbread muffins are a notch up. the sauce selection is extensive and fun for a change, though most places are better getting 1 or 2 done right and concentrating on that. (if you like really spicy, ask them to bring some "wilber's revenge.") so, while we much prefer frequenting locally owned independent places, we will definitely recommend the hermitage famous dave's and especially commend it for it's excellent service.

always good. i've been to this dave's many times. every time i come, the food is good! that is saying something! recently, i had thebrisketand hot link dinner. they were wonderful! the sides were good as well! i recommend staying away from the pork ribs, since their quality is spotty.
