i really liked my sampler platter with falafel. everything was fresh and very flavorful. the portion was very large, but i felt the price was reasonable for the meal. they have smaller portion options that are less expensive too. i have been looking for my go to mediterranean place since i moved from chicago and i think i've found it!

the fav mediterian grill of mine.
bad its that they only located in dallas 😞.

everything with olive oil.
so light no matter how much you eat.
the eggplant, hummus, grilled potato and the pita bread
wow i say.
loved the ambience simple and best.

nights are for trying out new restaurants. last night, i decided to pay a visit to the fadi's, had heard a lot about the healthy mediterranean cuisine there.

an overwhelming array of dishes welcomes you as you enter the restaurant, veg and non veg delicacies attractively lined up. ambience wise, the place might be a bit of let down with no signature decor depicting mediterranean region. chattering big families with noisy kids running around, most of the folks being from asian, arab origin. so if you are looking for a peaceful dinner with some moments of introspection, then this is definitely not the place. its a boon for buffet diggers of course, who fill their to-go boxes to the brim.
quality of food was pretty average. i tried the chicken shawarma. frankly speaking, i have tasted better ones in india. tried another eggplant dish, which was good. humus was bland and tasted average. price wise, its a bit on the higher side. service was fast. on a scale of 10, i would rate it a 5. strictly a one time visit.

chicken tikka roll is a must .. specially if you are spoilt with indian taste or have an orthodox indian taste buds.. this may justify it by an extent.. shawarma was good too!

the food was pretty good. i'm not a fan of buffet line style restaurants though. it was very noisy and ordering was confusing.

always fresh and always fabulous. the lunch special is particularly fantastic. you get a choice of one salad, one veggie and a meat for $7.99. the bread is fantastic. i usually enjoy hummus, salad with fruit in it and gyro meat or lamb kabob. i go out of my way to come here. it's that good! the owner just told me in a few weeks they open a new one in richardson. i can't wait to try it!

utter disappointment.... i've been itching to try fadi's for awhile, thanks to many of your glowing reviews. what i experienced there today at lunch was far below a shining time.

first off, i was not really pleased about the buffet style set-up. was expecting to sit down and order. but i go with the flow, so to the buffet i went.

it was around 11:40, just before the noon rush. i got behind a couple ladies who couldn't speak good english and took me forever to get to the meat station, where we had 7 employees staring at us and no one to help us for at least 7 minutes. meanwhile the line was building up fast behind us.

finally the meatman comes out and dishes out the final portion of of the meal, and i step up to pay. the cashier tells me she needs to calculate this man's large to-go order before i can pay for my meager plate of food. nope, not okay, my blood sugar was dipping at this point after such a long wait, and i was not going to stand by while she totaled up food for 50 people. i did the unthinkable. i stood up for myself and told her i just had one plate to pay for, and so i did.

i sat down with high hopes for the food to redeem the horrendous service i had just been subjected to.

the couscous and spicy hummus were pretty good, but the "fadi chicken" was pink and undercooked in the center, when i cut into it.

i'm still starving. thanks to this terrible experience. won't be going back to fadi's.
