honestly this place is not really good very disappointing you're paying high prices forsmallportions of food i had the lemon chicken and it was crap dry chicken and tough. everyone at the table tried the chicken and said the same thing. i should have guessed that it wasn't going to be good from the number of customers inside the restaurant only us. i'll give it a 2 out of 5. i'm going back the old style chinese restaurants dilapidated and old but at least it's good and reliable. i recommend waikiki chinese.

although, the prices were a tad higher than i expected from a chinese restaurant, the food was also better than expected. appetizers were the assorted platter - (spring roll,prawn toast and sweet corn soup) nice, but quite standard. also, the sang choy bow which was excellent. the mains were szechuan beef and duck with plum sauce which we shared and were equally delicious. the mains are a little on thesmallside so i recommend ordering extras if you're hungry. service was good, and average waiting time was about 10 minutes or less.

horrible food.....we watched three tables make complaints at the counter all aboutsmallportions and food. we will not be back.... worst chinese food our family has ever experienced...we will not be back. the staff did not care about our feedback and lost the ability to speak english...shocking !!!!!

expectations were high! finally a chinese restaurant in rockingham that didn't look like the dilapidated 50 year old chinese restaurants that have plagued rockingham since the 70s.

the decor is excellent and provided a classy feel to the beginning of our dining experience.

a great menu and reasonably priced with some not so reasonably priced wines also on offer.

we ordered as per the menu list and waited expectantly for our entrees.

that's where it all fell apart!

after waiting some 25 mins we were advised that they had run out and asked us to re-order. not a problem!

entrees arrived and althoughsmallwere quite flavoursome.

approx 30 mins later the mains began to arrive. at this time 2 of our party were told that they would need to reorder their main meal!!

another of our party wasn't even aware that they were required to reorder and subsequently had to approach staff to check, once again to be told they would also need to re-order.

due to half our party already eating there was no point in waiting another 30 mins for new meals to arrive it was decided to share all the meals

end result: everyone left wanting more and dome cafe benefited from several hungry persons

will not return to this restaurant.

back to the old reliable (even if still dilapidated) chinese restaurants. boring but at least you'll leave satiated.

expensive and nothing special. i found this is a very pricey restaurant and owner tries to make it an "upmarket" chinese restaurant. the interior is basic and asmallrestaurant (more like a cafe). to charge asmallbowl of steam rice @ $4 is excessive and two piece of spring @ $8 as entree is ridiculous!! i dined in many top chinese restaurants in perth but this is the one i consider "expensive". i supposed there are very limited good chinese restaurant around rockingham area, so the owner may take advantage of this. i found the food are "westernised" chinese food and would prefer to spend my money else where for a descent western food. one positive of this restaurant is it doesn't have the typical chinese cooking smell comes out from their kitchen into the dining area.

good service. we orderered banquet meal which was delicious. lots ofsmallportions and by the end we were very full. signature prawn dish was our favourite along with the wonton soup. we will return.

go elswhere this was below average. my husband came home all excited about this new chinese restaurant that everyone was talking about and really wanted to try it.
so the next night we put in an order and picked it up as a takeaway to share with friends.
i feel really embarrassed to have introduced good friends of mine to such bad tasting expensive chinese food.
the honey chicken was inedible and felt and tasted like processed chicken...it was awful.
the special friend rice had no flavour, and could not decipher what was special about it as it contained sliced snow peas, diced carrots, and asmallamount of bbq pork.
sweet and sour pork was ok but a verysmallserve.
combination noodle was dry chewy noodles in a bowl with oil (no flavouring) then a separate bowl of very liquidy veggies and a bit of meat. (similar to chow mein but very substandard)
none of the take away containers were full so the serving sizes weresmalland at $22 a dish (much more than most other chinese places) i expected better.
the price you pay for this substandard, below average meal would have been better saved for your local eating hall and then drinks afterwards because the crap quality of eating hall food would have been more satisfying than this.
my husband says he wants to give it another try and dine in to see if that makes a difference, but honestly i wouldn't waste my money.

the worst and most expensive chinese we have ever eaten.. we decided on the 5 course banquet because it seemed the best value for money on their fairly pricey menu. then we were told that rice counts as one of the courses, which is bs. when the food did come it was verysmallportions and most of it was over-salted. some of it even had a burning chemical taste (!) which made my wife and i feel quite sick. afterwards when we saw the chef at the counter we told him that we weren't happy with the meal, but instead of apologizing he was just really arrogant. we really don't understand all the rave reviews of this place when there are much better tasting and cheaper alternatives..
