euphemia haye restaurant

not impressed and disappointed. heard good things about this place and decided to go for our anniversary. service was great but the food was not good. their signature duck smelled and tasted like leftover food. very dry, over cooked, and had a microwaved taste. the beef medallions were okay. finished the badmealupstairs for dessert. ordered two items and only 1 came out correctly! how can you serve apple pie for pecan?? there are only a few items on the menu. the upstairs was not properly staffed and it showed. i asked for the pecan pie to be warmed. half of it was warm and the other half was cold.

i rarely post reviews but felt for the money we spent at this restaraunt, my expectations were much higher. i left hungry, angry, and disappointed.

expensive mediocre dinner. had heard great things about this restaurant, but after dinner last night, was truly disappointed. the house wine was good, and the zucchini appetizer was outstanding. that's the end of the "good". the duck entre was dry, which i thought would be impossible with duck. my wife's filet was not at all seasoned and remarkably tasteless. the asparagus side was just ok. the make a big deal out of deserts served upstairs. the banana cream pie and the apple walnut pies were run-of-the-mill at best. for $220 for dinner for two, themealshould have blown our socks off. as i left the restaurant, i noticed i was still wearing mine.

a unique experience!. my husband and i visit this restaurant every chance we get! the food downstairs is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. the wait staff is wonderfully attentive and will suggest a wine to go along side yourmealoption. in fact, the last two times we have visited we had the same pleasant waiter. the atmosphere is positively quaint. nothing like any restaurants in the orlando area.

the haye loft is like no other. it has a romantic charm to it the moment you step foot upstairs. the haye loft usually has unique local talent playing piano for you while you nosh on delectable desserts and sip coffee. did i just mention desserts?!? chef ray arpke will make you want to try all of his creations. that is if you still have room in your stomach after supper!

if you are in the sarasota/tampa/orlando area and would like to experience something spectacular, visit euphemia haye!

went for our anniversary last night, eh, this place has pasted it's self life. the service was mediocre as was the food, what was not was the bill! i do not mind paying for top quality items, things cost but this was not it. i can say i will not be back for a mid packmealat nyc prices. too bad, i was excited to go but the farther themealwent, the excitement drained. the need some new life and the chef-owner should cook, not parade around in chefs whites with old accolades embroidered on his chest.

overpriced poor quality when we expressed disappointment in themealthe chef/owner (who didn't cook the meal) argued with us. guess the customer isn't right @ this place! will not be back and will tell all not to bother . there are plenty of other high quality restaurants in the area with better food and service. don't waste your hard earned money here.

i liked most everything about this restaurant. i took two potential clients here from bradenton because it was the best rayed around. longboat key is a bit of a drive but this was well worth it. we started with the pate' and escargot. both were fabulous. the pate was creamy and flavorful with an assortment of olives, capers, etc. with toast rounds. the escargot was in a garlic butter with mushrooms. while not necessarily great plating the snails were delicious. we ordered their two signature dishes; the pepper crusted steak and the duck. they cook the steak on a hot grill right in the dining area, nice touch. it was ina brandy citrus sauce, if i recall correctly. the steal was incredible. i thought that the peppered crust would be too much bit it was delightful. now, the one part i did not like; the duck. it was horribly dry and overcooked. the chef came by and asked how everything was and my guests were enjoying thiers so much, i took one for the team and dis not send it back. after yourmealyou are escorted upstairs to the haye loft for a selection of amazing desserts, coffees and after dinner drinks. this was a great touch. we shared the peanut butter mousse pie with a meyers rum chocolate layer on top. just wow! the bad news is that i can only imagine how could the ten others might have been. despite the duck, i would not hesitate to reccommend and return.

it may be expensive, but in twenty years i've never had a less than wonderfulmealat eh. and don't miss the haye loft, the room upstairs where you can choose from a limited menu of dinner items and/ or the best desserts ever. the key lime pie is tangy-sweet with real whipped cream on top--no fake stuff here! the apple crumb pie is piled with slender, succulent slices of apple that melt in your mouth. on longboat key, there is no equal.
