great food!! i strongly suggest trying it out !!. these guys have got it going on !!!! tonight, some coworkers and i chopped in and purchased a notorious p.i.g. and a teflon don, two orders of banana peppers and a cesar salad. the pizzas are a huge 20 inch, hand tossed pizza with fresh ingredients!! i drove from n.w. expressway and council to grab this take out order and i was not disappointed at all!! i will be making more appearances to the empire very soon when i am off of work so i can try out theirbeerselection.

better every time. i've been to empire probably a dozen times now, and haven't really been disappointed on any of them. great pizza, beerselection, and especially prices, late food service, two patios, even good music variety--just a really solid hangout. probably my favorite place in the plaza. my only conceivable complaint (they fixed the cold slices and the service is somewhat improved in my experience) is the comically small amount of sauce on the pizzas sometimes. even in new york you can at least taste sauce in every bite. but if that's my only complaint? keep on keeping on.

decent, not amazing. the pizza was okay. i assume a fresh, whole one would be better, but by-the-slice was a bit cold and lifeless. the appetizers were solid, and combined with the goodbeerselection and big, neat patio, may give the place higher value as a hangout than a dinner spot. the service was cheerful but prone to mistakes, and it all took too long. pleasantly lower prices than i was expecting, though. worth going back to see if they improve, but it didn't quite light a fire with me.

great pizza dive. empire has become a staple in the oklahoma city pizza dining experience. its probably the best new york style style slice in okc. always chewy with inventive and traditional pizzas available. looking for a real new york experience try the fat tony and if you want something unique with a little bit of spice so for the foghorn leghorn. enjoy a good brew from theirbeerselection and take in the ambiance that is empire.

closest thing to "real pizza" okc has. this place has a cool and casual atomosphere. thebeerselection is good and the pizza is good. i have lived in cities known for good pizza and this place is the only one that comes close (besides maybe humble pie in edmond) to being as good. we will be back many times i am sure and i have told maybe people to try it also.

love empire!. empire is an amazing establishment. my family goes weekly and we've only had one day that we couldn't get a table. ask for the daily slices. i've had almost every type and all amazing. the artichoke dip is great and i'm personally not an artichoke fan. there is a largebeerselection and other drinks. the salads are always fresh and full of real leaves compared to some places which only serve iceberg lettuce. overall we love the wait staff, the atmosphere is great, wonderful food, and always a good time.

soakin up some vitamin d on the front patio. enjoying the company from the new york native pink elephant. sippin on some seasonal beer. i couldnt ask for a better environment around okc. how can u beat pizza by the slice? how about a fat ass 20 inch pizza! love, love, love this local establishment, never frozen ingredients and over 100 beers on deck. wine selection hand picked by some of the nicest management i have ever came across. don't likebeeror wine, thats okay, plenty of liquor to choose from. best whiskey around hand picked specifically by rachel cope herself. thanks empire, keep slicin up my life! your service is the beezneez!

contrived. not sure how to rate this place, because even with its imperfections, it is still the closest thing to nyc style pizza that i know of in oklahoma city.

the pizza itself probably tastes pretty very good; it is absolutely new york style. unfortunately my piece was burned on the bottom of the crust. weird, because of dozens of pizzerias i've eaten at in brooklyn, queens and manhattan, the only place i've ever had a burned slice served was from a crappy pizza truck or from one of the 99 cent-a-slice pizza places around 14th st. the quality of the pizza was definitely better than the 99 cent-a-slice kind though. maybe the burned pizza was an aberration.

the weird thing about this place is the ambiance. i would call it derivative of some hipster pizzeria on bedford avenue, but even the hipster pizzerias in williamsburg don't seem quite as contrived as empire slice house. the atmosphere seems more kitsch than cool to me.

thebeerselection here is high browed, which i've never seen in authentic pizzeria. i need a $2.50 domestic or polishbeerwhen eating a $3.25 slice of pizza (which is overpriced itself). forcing customers to buy $8 a pint beer--served alongside pizza that would be considered average in on of the five boroughs--is definitely not keeping it real.

oh, and the staff seems a little snotty too. when i ordered a "regular" slice, i swear she sneered at me. if you are trying to pass yourself off as "empire" pizza, you had better not sneer when someone uses nyc pizza jargon, genius.

branching out. i recently ventured over to empire for a quick bite to eat before the thunder game. upon entering i found myself in a very intriguing environment. crazy decor plastered to the wall that provides as much entertainment as the big screens all over the place. there was a fantastic selection ofbeerto choose from! unless you just want a flavorless, watered down domestic, they have got you covered. we started out with a salad and some garlic knots, which were incredible. i then thoroughly enjoyed a slice of the sir isaac newton. one of the best and most original slices of 'za i have had in quite some time.
you must try this place!

this is exactly what okc was missing. yes, this city does have other restaurant/bars that have popped up in the last couple years, but esh has done it the right way. all the others need to take note. i travel a lot for work and always seem to find these killer late night bar eateries that make me envious of cities like austin, denver, and kansas city. i've been to esh multiple times now and figured it's time for a review. first off, the pizza here is just ridiculous. this is by far the best pizza in okc. all the other pizza joints here either try too hard or not hard enough. i've tried most of the pizzas on the menu and have never been disappointed. my two favorites are the mca and fungus among us. they are a must-have. thebeerselection is top notch as well. my husband is abeersnob and doesn't want to go anywhere else after seeing their selection. this place has definitely turned me into abeergirl now. the staff at empire is the icing on the cake... or cannoli in this case. they have always been beyond my expectation. very attentive and almost always smiling. especially, clayton, the bartender. he alone turned us into regulars on our very first visit. he is one of the best bartenders/servers i've ever had, and i've met a lot traveling the world. the next job opening at my firm, i'll be giving him my card. all-around this place is simply fantastic. if you haven't been, i urge you to stop in. you won't be disappointed.

been here numerous times, great vibe, good people, & a stellarbeerselection. every different slice i've had here has been top-notch, but i had the fungus among us tonight ... quite possibly the best pizza in okc.

my 2nd visit was better than the 1st and i wrote a positive review then. for those who have eaten at the old and first hideaway in stillwater than if you liked the wall art there than you will like the deco, beerand pizza here. although empire has a full service bar and huge selection of beer.

it has good pizza and a vast selection of cold beer. nice environment to enjoy a few slices and cold brew. it is similar to nyc style pizza but you can really only find a great nyc pizza in ny and all the rest just good attempts. i found the waitstaff helpful, prompt and attentive. then again it wasn't a packed. certainly the attitude of the staff is much better than what you find in nyc even if the pizza is not. the cost was reasonable unless you are a fan of little ceasers.
