i love this place! go here almost every weekend. great!! service, great!! food, great!! prices. all around awesome place to go

the guacamole is rich and flavorful - very heavy on the garlic (never a bad thing).

good authentic tex-mex. this is my favorite traditional tex-mex restaurant so far in cincinnati. the staff is always friendly and fast. the food is pretty normal as far as tex-mex goes, but always hits the spot. great place to hang out and eat with the family on a friday night.

business lunch. we had a business lunch for 8 because of the convenient location. nobody had tried it. everyone was pleased. the food was tasty, well-priced, fast, friendly service, ample parking, varied menu. some regional dishes. needless to say, we'll be going back.

great tacos al pastor and top notch tamales. menu has a great amount of chorizo dishes as well which are very good. anyone who is a fan of tacos and/or chorizo should take a gander at this place.

can you post a menu we can actually read? i've eaten there once, and it was pretty good, but would like my friends to be able to see the menu, before coming to the restaurant..

wow very impressed!. my son and i had dinner here last night and the food was fantastic! the best mexican i ever had in cincinnati. their salsa needs to be more chunky but the dishes we ordered was very flavorful, came out hot, great presentation, and nice ambience. i got the pollo chipolte and my son got the taco salad. it was very good. i will definitely be going back! oh and the margaritas are humongous! friendly service too. definitely recommend this place!

warning. 2 days after going to el jinete for lunch i found that a 26% gratuity had been applied to my bill without my permission. i went there with a group but we all paid individually. i paid with card and left a tip on the table. i will not be going back!

accessibility. i was trying to look up the menu on line and there does't seem to be and easy way to do it!!!!! it shows vague pictures of certain dishes and blurry photos of the menu. very poor quality. it makes me not want to order from this restaurant...

mehh. i really wanted some good mexican cuisine. after reading the reviews i went here for lunch on saturday. i walked in and was immediately greeted and seated. the decor is beautiful and the server was very nice. i ordered the chicken nachos. the food was mediocre and the chicken tasted like fried eggs for some reason. i also ordered a side of refried beans to add to my nachos. they were gray in color and lacked the flavor i was looking for.

el jinete is a good option for mexican when i am in a rush as it's close to my commute route.
the people are friendly and is usually not a problem to find parking. the lunch specials are good and doesn't put a debt in your wallet.
the complementary chips and salsa is good, especially the salsa, which is chunky and refreshing.
i tried a few things and have been very happy. i wanted nachos once and it was a disappointment as it seemed that they put chips and melted cheese on it via microwave...i haven't tried it since so it may be an anomaly. that night, i tried the taco salad and it seems that they microwaved it too as the lettuce was warm as if it came out of the microwave as was the taco bowl (it was chewy).
again, my negative experience was one night and i have come back few times since without complaints...but i haven't ordered those items.

been there several times was not dissapointed. good food always hot. service pretty decent. dont know why some of the negitive comments. its good food at a reasonable price. always crowded. if its so bad why do folks keep coming back. go figure cant please all the people!

visited on saturday, march 15, 2014. started with a great margarita, then ordered something different, the burritos acapulco, very tasty. i'm not sure what that acapulco sauce is (maybe tomatillo), but i like it! one chicken, one beef, with refried beans and some guacamole over shredded lettuce. friendly staff.

i lived in tucson ,arizona for twenty years , el. jinete is the closest to the real deal . great food good price friendly staff.

service underpar. my boyfriend & i went here (red bank location) to eat this past saturday evening. we were sat right away with menus. the waitress came & got our drink orders. we had to ask for chips & salsa (isn't it standard for most mexican restaurants to place these on your table at the waitress/waiter greeting)? we then were into our chips & salsa when we realized we had no silverware or napkins (to wipe the chip salt from our hands or salsa on our lips). why are we having to ask to be served standard things served at a restaurants??? after i waved to the waiter that he was serving our meals to the table across from us we finally got to enjoy our el pastor tacos. these weren't seasoned as we expected & there was way too many onions put in mine. luckily my boyfriend loves onions. finally no one came to see if our order was complete, satisfactory or if we needed anything else (including drinks). well our waitress came to clear my boyfriends finished plate & at that time asked us how everything was. thank goodness we didn't have anything wrong with our order....we would have been waiting forever. i felt the service could have been better.
