best mexican tacos ever. the title says it all. el camino real serves the best tacos i've ever eaten. they are on soft corn tortillas with a slice of avocado and radish. the carnitas (pork) are my favorites... absolutely delicious with the tomatillo sauce. i won't go to another mexican restaurant for fear of being disappointed now that i frequent el camino real. did i mention the ladies that provide excellent table service and just what a deal these tacos are? go for the tacos, you won't be disappointed.

love it!. great service, great tacos and margaritas. i love the chili salt around the mango margarita. the el pastor taco is the best. the servers are always nice, and the food is freshly prepared.

it's a small little place that's easy to zoom past but if you get a chance to stop.... do. the only real criticism i have is that it was a little too warm. but the food is really good, just spicy enough, the atmosphere is pleasant and their green tapatillo salsa is extremely good. i will be returning.

this is a yummy mexican food joint that you'd probably not notice it if you weren't looking for it.  it's kind of like my secret restaurant that i don't want too many people to know about, because i don't want to have to wait for a table.  it's a small, it's authentic and it's my favorite mexican food in greensboro.  their tacos al pastor is super good, their mixed drinks are reasonably priced and their salsa is great.  what more can you ask for?

fittingly for a place that translates to “the real way,” el camino real wears its authenticity on its sleeve. while the familiar burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas fill the menu, you will also find lengua (beef tongue), mole, and other less americanized offerings here. a recent cutthroat kitchen episode inspired a fish taco craving, so i decided to give them – and the al pastor (marinated pork) and chorizo – a try. the tacos came well-dressed with radish, cilantro, and lime. of the three varieties sampled, the chorizo was far and away the tastiest: it offered a spicy, crumbly bite throughout. the tilapia in the fish taco was moist and adequately seasoned, but doesn’t reach the standard set by los gordos. the pastor had the right flavor profile (hint of pineapple) but was disappointingly dry.

best mexican in greensboro, no contest. el camino real mexican grill is the best mexican restaurant in greensboro, easily. while the dining room is very small, the food is exceptionally good and very affordable. the staff is friendly, and they made the best presidente margarita i have ever tasted. the only downsides are that it is tough to find a parking spot and the wait can be a bit long. its only local competition is la botana in winston - i'm not sure which i prefer, but you can't go wrong with either choice if you are looking for the triad's best mexican food.

try the molcajete. this little place is not only "the real way", it is also the real deal (i know it really means "the royal way", but i'm trying to be clever, work with me here.) nice and bright, colorfully decorated with 4 or 5 booths, and maybe 8 tables - no separate bar area, very small outside seating area.

usual suspects on the menu, especially the lunch specials. rice is very nice, grains properly separated; beans are rather soupy, but with good flavor; chips are nice, but the salsa is thin, and a little bland. the authentic soft tacos are very, very nice - frankly much better, and much better plated, than at its "sister" restaurant in the guilford college shopping center. the carnitas and steak tacos were especially nice.

but the real dish is el molcajete - a large dish with beef, pork, chicken, chorizo, roasted green onion, roasted jalapeno peppers, roasted catctus, cheese, and avacado served in a large, hot lava rock bow ( the molcajete)l - the same kind of bowl used to make salsa in mexican homes. this dish will serve 3 or 4 people, and comes with tortillas, beans, rice, and both a red and green sauce. you in effect use these items to make your own tacos, and they are awesome. the price is $21,99, but will feed 3 or 4. this is the single best mexican dish i've every eaten because there are so many tastes and flavors going on here. the 2 sauces are a little on the mild side, but there is some hotter red sauce available, on request.

the service here is excellent and friendly, and the food is quick out of the kitchen. there are a number of reasons to try this little gem, but el molcajete seals the deal - the real deal.

the service was excellent, and the food was very good! the horchata was delicious! they have $1 tacos every tuesday and thursday, and you definitely can't beat that. it is small, but doesn't feel terribly crowded, even when packed out.

#1 place to eat. my wife and i love el camino. we go once a week...sometimes we can't help but to go a second time. if we go out to eat, this is the only place we go! the food is authentic, fresh, and just so good! i have never been disappointed and i have been coming here for years. the staff is friendly, prompt, and they know how to make you feel at home. the prices are wonderful. my favorite dish: pastor mexican style tacos (marinated pork and pineapple) or cheese enchiladas. my wife always gets the chicken mexican style tacos and rice. we love el camino and we know you will too!
