love food love wine love this place. great value and great food. the music is loud and it can be a bit scary if you're not twenty something - but the people really want you to have a great night so relax and enjoy ... and if you're in a big group trust your choices to the staff - you won't be sorry

coming from melbourne i just say i had an amazing time at this stablishment. great food, amazing atmosphere, excellent customer service. food 9/10. service 10/10. try the popcorn sundae it is to die for!

on walking in you can feel the vibe of the place. the staff are friendly and helpful. we had a table reserved near the bar and fairly central in the restaurant. the menu is written in chalk on the wall and as items run out they are rubbed out. we were advised to try a couple of cheaper meals and one large meal as a guide for the evening. we went for the ceviche, pulled pork terrine and ghetto beef. these were all delightful. the ceviche was amazing. it was refreshing and full of heat but the chi

they've increased the price but it's still good value if you have a huge appetite. a la carte is not worth it at all, as they expect people taking the all you can eat option to eat a lot. one female staff was unfriendly. other staff was excellent.

good food great service. experience is a very individual thing. i don't know what other reviewers experienced to make them complain about the service, i came to 86 as part of a large group and the service was better than i've had just about anywhere else. warm, knowledgeable and most of all genuinely concerned about our well being. dietary preferences were catered for really well. restaurant 86 and monster are two great experiences in canberra that i dont think you would get in a bigger city where waitstaff are a bit more jaded and don't feel the need to try quite so hard. i loved 86 and most importantly so did my friends.

first time dining at eightysix last night and completely fell in love. duck bernaise, bag of salmon and fried chicken were all so good, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. banoffee pie was easily one of the best desserts i've had. we got to sit up at the bar overlooking the kitchen and loved the experience and interaction with the chefs. if you can't stand noise, a loud atmosphere and boisterous staff, it's not the place for you, but having experienced all of this with the same guys at ellacure, we loved it. will be back again in the coming weeks!

the food was undoubtedly amazing, atmosphere and crowd was great but the staff/service was terrible. as another reviewer said, had to wait for a booked table, staff were unprofessional and rude. would definitely go back if there were friendlier wait staff..

not going back. went there today for lunch sat at a table and only lasted 10 mins. the waitor told us we can sit wherever we like after 5 mins he came to take our order and i commented that nothing really grabbed me on the menu. he politely said "well perhaps your in the wrong restaurant i won't be offended if you leave". so we did.

over rated, over priced and well over confident.

fresh and delicious food to share. wonderful interior, an a varied and intriguing menu. had to have a quick lunch, and we only ordered two dishes, but i am definitely keen to get back an try some more.
civiche was a great texture, surprisingly large pieces of fish, but worked perfectly with just the right amount of lime and some seriously crispy flatbread.
would highly recommend

arrrrgh i'm so sad to write this. i came here once with my partner and loved it - we did have to wait for our (booked) table but didn't mind. i came here tonight with some work mates, had a booking for 8:15, and by 9pm still didn't have a seat. so disappointing because the food and concept is brilliant but over-booking is a massive flaw. if you're coming here make sure it's a small group, or you book earlier rather than later.

i've been here three times and the food's incredible. the service is amazing. pretty sure the owner hits on everything with a vagina but its pretty funny. def recommend

i've already booked to come back next week and try everything on the menu i didn't try! best new restaurant in canberra. staff are amazing including the chef!

great food and service. really enjoyed it. ingredients very fresh, great presentation, nothing to hide with the kitchen. can't wait to go back.
