worth the wait!. get there before the line becomes too long. overall edley's has a variety of great food bbq with a southern flare. brisket nachos, ribs, smokedchickensandwich and the most flavorful hotchickenin nashville are all my recommendations. edley's also has some amazing wings (regular) full of flavor with a little spice. if your looking for hot wings.. edley's walking bird wings are insane! my only criticism is that the hotchickenand regular wings do vary of spice. one day there too spicy other days not so.
i do not recommend there side dishes except for the cole slaw.

i rarely ever leave a negative review, but edley's was one of the worst meals i've had in a while. the hotchickenwas almost too salty to eat and nothing like the hotchickenfrom places like hattie b's. basically like they took regularchickenfingers and packed strong seasonings thickly all over the outside. shrimp in the shrimp sandwich was tough and over cooked. maybe my experience was unusual (they are rated highly on this site after all), but i have zero interest in going back.

what a shame.. when ordering, the cashier(who rings everyone up) had no clue about the products they serve. the menu was very vague...just the food name and price. that's not a problem, but the employees should be able to tell the customer howchickenwings come(i.e., smoked, grilled, sauced, dry).
my wife ordered brisket tacos. what's the problem? they don't serve any brisket after lunch. this is the most coveted meat of the bbq world! and they don't serve it after lunch?
and don't think you can get french fries as a side. to heck with you if you don't like their side items they offer. fries are only an appetizer.
and lastly, if you own a bbq restaurant, you should take pride in it and not serve sweet baby rays. anyone can do that.

great q in nashpatch. stopped to eat lunch in nashville with my brother who lives there and he thought i'd like edley's. he was right. the sauce is pretty good and the white sauce (mainly for wings) is stellar. i had achickenbbq plate. the slaw is vinegar-based and an excellent recipe. i tried the brunswick stew as a side and it had all the meats in it that i missed ordering the chicken--it was exceptionally good--smoky, tomato-y, and an overcast of vinegar. i was impressed. however, they were training new cashiers that day and i was amazed that when the lunchtime folk were lined out the door, they didn't step up and take charge. my brother got back in line to get some more side to go with my left-over (huge portions)chickenand we were there as long for him to get those sides as it was for us to originally order and eat lunch. my brother bragged on their wings--he said the white sauce is good on them. i used it on mychickenalong with the traditional sauce and it was great. the white sauce is mostly mayo thinned with vinegar. there has to be something else in there---it's too good to just be that!

nashville restaurants and food edley's bar-b-que 2706 12th avenue south nashville 615-953-2951 www.edleysbbq.com edley's bar-b-que is off to a smoky good start. the crowds are flocking to the new 12 south restaurant and for one primary reason: these folks know their meat. take a bite of the brisket: smoky and tender with just a little fat and bit of charred rub for flavor. paired with a grilled, toasty bun, mild, tangy sauce and a pickle and you have a truly excellent sandwich. the brisket test is important- so many places abuse the cut by overcooking and drying it out. launch into the pulledchickenand you have another winning combo. this time the smoky (thanks to white oak) and moistchickenis accompanied by a flavorful white sauce. the minced pulled pork also proves to be smoky and juicy. my dining companion ben pronounces the catfish to be thickly bread, crunchy and tasty. there isn't a slouch in the bunch. right now they're only doing ribs at dinner and that will call for a retu
