edgar's tacos

best tacos i have ever had. tacos are not usually a huge hit with me when i go to a mexican restaurant - i like them, but they are usually not exceptional. the tacos made out on the street outside of reyna foods in the strip - awesome, and definitely the best tacos i have had anywhere. the ingredients are all great, but the grilled flavor of the tortilla and the fresh ingredients, included the freshly squeezed lime juice, complete everything and make every bite wonderful. the beef tongue and fish tacos were fantastic. also, if you like some heat, try their homemade sauces in the big plastic jars at the end of the line. now this is street food, baby!

this place is the bees knees. when you walk in to order, edgar himself will greet you with a big smile and an enthusiastic “hola!”

i’ve been here multiple times and i always tell myself i’m going to try something different, but i always leave with steak tacos and a side of chips with jalapeño cheese sauce. they’re excellent. i’m sure everything else is great as well but i’ve never been able to go through with not ordering steak tacos.

staff is super friendly and orders come out quickly. pricing is excellent. i work in the strip district and this will be one of my go-to lunch options from now on.

edgar's has some of the best tacos in the burgh! they are reasonably priced. edgar is a delightful, friendly man which makes buying from his small business all the better.

great stuff.. had the lamb taco and the tongue taco today. made fresh right before my eyes. both were great. i also liked the home made hot sauces which were tangy and not overpowering even though they were habanero.

can't wait to try some of their other items. i look forward to stopping there when i'm in the strip.

best taco in the burgh. after waiting in a semi-substantial line for what my boyfriend said "was the best taco he has ever had" (and he lived in southern california for quite some time) i was not disappointed at all! i ordered the barbacoa taco (marinated lamb) and it was delicious-no salsa,sour cream, or any of the traditional add ons were needed. in fact, i think adding any of the traditional taco accompaniments would have taken the focus off the barbeque flavor (more sweet) and the jalepenos (obviously giving the taco a kick). my boyfriend ordered the chorizo taco this time (previously he ordered the beef tongue taco, which was what made him want to come back and try edgar's other varieties) and said it was perfect. tacos are $3/each or 2 for $5. the tacos are large enough two makes a satisfying meal while one is more suited for a street snack. they have burritos too but the sign on their stand does not lie "best tacos in pittsburgh".

authentic. best taco in pittsburgh. one bite and anyone can tell that he's doing it right. two words.....beef tongue (lengua)

great. i was in the area looking to grab a bite of food with my friends and we found this gem. all of our dishes were delicious. the staff was friendly and attentive. even the chairs were comfortable. i could not have asked for more.

love this guy..... edgar's tacos are awesome.
ok honestly the carne asada ones are awsome, not the chorizo.
i don't know what's different about his chorizo but there is a weird after taste.

i know the ones in brookline have more meat in them but his are just proportional. perfect amount of meat to veggie ratio.

go for the lamb. stopped for a fast bite while shopping at the strip and was very pleasantlt blown away by their lamb tacos! first, i was surprised to see lamb as one of their options, and being a total lamb lover i had to try one. absolutely delicious! my husband stated that he doesn't have to go anywhere else when he wants a taco because he has found the best in the burgh. we will definitely be back to try more!

tacos ok. i tried some of reyna's tacos outside at the strip. a lot of salsa choices to choose from. they were freshly made and tasted ok. nothing spectacular.

renya's new dining room. i enjoyed a wonderful lunch, and returned the next week for dinner. the service was good, interior design is authentic mexican. no longer just a taco shack! the food selections are very nice and the meals were excellent! the new dining room has only been open almost a week. i look forward to my next mexican meal at reyna's.

great tacos, totally worth the wait.
