lots of nostalgic appeal, not much else. this place has a rich history that is deeply interconnected with the city of memphis. you probably couldn't read any definitive history book on the city of memphis without also including e&h along with it. that being said, however, this place is a seriously runned down dump.
sure, going upstairs and taking the tour is cool, "and this is where ray charles was almost found dead in his room with a heroin needle in his arm," or "we were once the biggest whore house in memphis," but beyond such not-so-flattering accolades, the bulk of what this place has to offer comes down to it's "soul burger."
i won't lie, it's a good--but not great--burger. in a town dominated by bbq, burgeroptions can feel scarce at times. so you might read reviews about huey's, the cooky canuck, or in this case e&h, but the gist is that this oneburgeris just a plain patty with some nostalgic history thrown in for a magical experience.
now you might find the aforementioned reason enough to go, you definitely should check this place out at least once if you never have before, but if you're wondering if theburgeris worth the trip, you're better off walking across the street to arcade or down the street to sob and spindini.
