dudley's pizza & tavern

worst service ever!!. waitress took our order then disappeared for the rest of our visit. because no one came back to help, we went to the hostess stand to get our bill. the disinterested hostess went to the waitress stand where our missing waitress had finally reappeared, but we had to wait another 10 minutes to get our bill. the missing waitress apologized, but the look on her face as she said "i really hope you'll come back someday" indicated that she knows that her days and the days of this place are numbered. food? don't waste the money on their romano fries---no big deal. pizza--okay, but not worth having to endure the service.

poor service, good food. the food was good with a nice drink/beer menu and reasonable prices. this was not good enough to make up for the poor service. the staff was friendly, albeit slow. the food was brought out one plate at a time, with approx. 5 minutes between each plate - which caused an awkward situation of some people eating, and some not. the appetizer was not immune to this problem, and actually came out after most of the entrees. the final plate (a burger, so nothing complicated prep wise) was at least 10 minutes after all the others and everyone was essentially done eating by the time it finally showed up. no explanation was given, and we had to eventually flag down a manager who simply said that it 'was coming out.'

some serious attention needs to be paid to the expediting of orders as, while the food was good, it certainly wasn't good or original enough to overcome such shortcomings.

lesson learned. even though we were warned about this place, we thought we would give it a try. the service was terrible.our appetizers took a pretty long time.the "breaksticks" were very boring. after waiting for about 45 minutes, we got our pizzas.you know that you have been waiting for too long when your beer is warm by the time the food shows up.they were nothing special, and they're overpriced.thanks to the poor service, we were late to our movie and had to wait for the next showing. next time we're back in omaha, we won't be returning.save your time and money by picking up a frozen party pizza at the grocery store.....no explanation needed.

service was terrible. want to like dudley's, however our service was so terrible that we can't bring ourselves to dine there again. i liked the atmosphere, the beer selection and the food. we had difficulties at the bar trying to get a drink while waiting for a table. after we were seated at a table, we didn't see our waiter at all for about 15 minutes. i didn't get any refills, our appetizer (fries) took an additional 30 minutes to arrive, and i had to go to the service station myself to get napkins. our waiter was not attentive. we were there 2 hours for a pizza and fries. the table next to us had a very similar experience.

greedy. these guys changed the tip amount charged on my card (i had 4, they changed it to 12). they are dishonest...the food might be good but i will not go back because i don't appreciate the dishonesty.

great place. i've been in several times and have enjoyed each visit. i've ordered something different each time, and i still don't know which is my favorite. the service is still a little slow, but has improved a lot. it also has some great beer. overall, i highly recommend it.

nom nom nom. we had 3 different menu items when we stopped in randomly a couple weeks ago. the flavors were out of this world!! i must say the peanut butter and jelly wings blew my mind!! i will back again and again!

burgers onion rings and chocolate chip cookies. tried this place after a movie. bacon cheeseburger was excellent. their onion rings have a light super crispy coating that let's the onion come through. definitely would do this again.

beware of generic responses. i posted a review of my experience last week and got the same lame generic response as all of the other negative reviews. to dudley's owners: don't waste your time copying your generic response. it's very obviously disingenuous! to potential customers: i truly hope your experience was better than ours because the owners clearly don't care to read your review unless it sings their praises!

unfortunate first experience. i am really sad that we didn't have a better experience. my wife and i live in the neighborhood and loved visiting mojo's prior to their closing. we decided to check dudley's out because we love the location and love pizza! we visited dudley's on a friday night and they were fairly busy when we arrived.
the ambiance is nice but it became obvious that the owners must not be "restaurant" people when we sat down at our table and had a very hard time seeing our menus due to the awful glare that the placement of their lighting caused. the menu took way too many liberties, mixing flavors and styles that don't even sound appealing. to make matters worse, their selection of dishes weren't always appropriate for the dishes served (our mixed green salads came out in bowls that left more greens on the table than in our mouths). it's unfortunate that they are trying so hard when their concept could work and their location is second to none!
the food was pretty good and their beer selection is better than most. again, though, i can't say i was impressed. the cheese pizza my wife ordered had hidden pieces of bacon and the side salads we ordered came with chopped green onions that weren't mentioned by our waiter when we asked prior to ordering them.
the service was disappointing but could be fixed if they would just pay attention to detail and provide their staff with proper training. the fact that they didn't provide us with napkins or silverware until we had nearly finished our appetizer wouldn't have mattered much if the silverware they did finally give us (once we asked) would have been clean... but it wasn't.
we'll likely give them another shot since they're new, in the neighborhood, and we like to support local businesses but they will need to step their game up quickly because an experience like the one we had today won't fly if they want to make it to their 6 month anniversary.
oh, and to the owners (or whomever you were sitting in the corner booth that obviously knew the staff quite well), awkwardly staring at your guests throughout their entire meal is not the best way to "observe" your staff or the guest's experience. best of luck to you! and, if you don't want to rely on luck, hire a consultant to close the very obvious gaps in what should be a great restaurant in an even better location.

awesome!. we were in omaha visiting friends and had dinner at the (completely full) dudley's on saturday night. the pool table was our home, and we dined on pb&j wings (which were great), pizza (which was really great) and cookies for dessert (which, you guessed it, were great). we liked it so much that we decided to go back to watch the afc championship game on sunday. i had the burger for lunch, and my fiancee had the salad (just to mix it up a little). all around, the food was wonderful, and i would highly recommend it.

what's more, the atmosphere was great each time we where there. people were enjoying themselves, having fun, and it was easy to be caught up in it. the owners and staff have done a great job of making it feel like home; it's a place where it's very easy to come together and enjoy your time with whomever you sharing your meal.

if you're still reading, stop. instead, hop in your car and go try it for yourself. you'll be glad you did!

the pizza crust is awesome!!! it is light and flavorful....i loved it. the batter on the onion rings is delish, the wait staff was friendly and helpful and my garden pizza was really tasty . i will be back with my hubby and my kids!

yummmmm. a large group of us went to dudley's after a bike ride last sunday and had a great time. the service was excellent as was the food. they had to provide space for our group of 25 or so and they were very accommodating. and the noise level was such that we were able to converse easily. the atmosphere is lively and fun. not to be missed for casual dining!

when i first heard about dudley's i was already excited. i personally feel that there can never be enough pizza & beer joints; especially ones that are actually good and stay open late. everything about dudley's far exceeded my expectations; from the food to the staff and service, everything is about as good as it gets. sure, they may have the occasiobal hiccup here and there. but that's to be expected for a place that's about a month old. as far as the wait goes, i can say that it has nothing to do with slow service or negligence. it just makes sense that when a place is crazy busy, it's going to take a while to get your food. the staff have all been extremely friendly and accommodating so far. i've been there at least 6 times and everyone i've taken with me has loved it! do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven't already.

in short: best pizza in town and quite possibly the best crust in the world. seriously.

beware-poor service. we sat down at the bar and waited for at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. it was a saturday evening with an average crowd and two men working the small bar. finally we were able to get some service and ordered a couple beers. i would say about 15 minutes later we were able to grab a bar back boy to order our dinner but he was not allowed to. a bartender eventually came to us so we could order our dinner. after giving them a very simple yet specific burger order, they still managed to mess it up. one of the owners came out and apologized for the inconvenience and said he would personally make sure the order was correct and bring it out himself. when he returned, it was extremely easy to notice that all they did was scrape off the wrong ingredients and let it sit for 5 minutes underneath a heat lamp. i could still see the ingredients on the bun/burger. no one ever came back to check if it was correct or tasted good, there was no apology, and we didn't see our waiter until he asked if we were finished and wanted the check. in my opinion, this was one of the worst service experiences i have ever witnessed. it was very unprofessional and a little insulting that a restaurant would do this to a customer. they should have made a new burger or at least made sure it was okay after bringing it to me. we even saw a lady come up to the bar explaining how she didn't know where her waitress was but they would like another round. the bartender said they couldn't help her and they would have to wait until their waitress returned. we didn't stay long enough to find out how that ended. this place has terrible service and i would not recommend it to anyone.

never again. when i walked in i was told by the bartender that the table i sat down at wasn't where i was supposed to sit, but after a very awkward exchange and some confusion he told me to sit there. the food was mediocre, my water glass was constantly empty, and i was given my ticket before i even finished half of my food without any question. overall a very unwelcoming restaurant. never coming back
