always a busy place given the location in the village.
the chicken parmigiana is something to be had if in whistler!
it’s a huge serve which will re-energise you after a day of hiking or skiing/snowboarding.

at least in whistler, there won’t be a potato famine anytime soon. the portions were generous and if there were any additional veggies, as most recipes suggest, there wasn't much that i could discover buried in the gravy.

first visit to the dubh linn gate pub - on recommendation by the ziplining company we signed up for tours with. it was conveniently located right across from zip tours so it saved us time in between tours. the clam chowder was very good, had lots of seafood and was accompanied with corn bread. i wasn't expecting 3 fish tacos in my order - it was a lot of food. the penne and prosciutto salad was also very good. the main thing i wasn't keen on during my visit was that staff were not wearing masks or face shields whatsoever. all the other places we've dined in had these covid precautions in place so i was surprised they didn't.

great service and amazing food. we went for the zipline and got an additional 20% discount as well. the staff was very polite. we opted for the outdoor seating since the weather was amazing.

its good that all irish pubs set a standard around the world; dark oak counter tops, chairs and tables; stained glass windows; and kilkenny and guinness on tap.

its time to go international... i'm ordering a ruben sandwich at an irish pub in canada! plus the sheppards pie. we upgraded the plain chips to rosemary and bacon mayo!

the shepherds pie was ok, nothing brilliant. it was missing the flavour but it was very filling. the ruben was good but it needed more pickles. the toasted press was a nice touch. both were a little small in size when you compare the size of the share meals and snacks.

the rosemary and bacon mayo is a must!! it adds all new levels of flavour and everything's better with bacon!

the service is good, quick and the waitresses are friendly. there's table service and the place is fun. expect to have a chat with everyone at the bar.

i had supper this evening at dubh linn gate irish pub. 

appetizers were $10 and i ordered wings with buffalo sauce. they were tasty.

at 9pm, chad oliver started singing a mix of songs. he was good.

tia was my server. she was friendly and took good care of me.

great experience, best at any restaurant in whistler so far actually.
service was very good, the team did a great job keeping our glass full, and got food on the table very quickly.
we had clam chowder, the roasted beet and goat cheese salad, the beef dip and shared an order of their rosemary garlic fries.

my beef dip was done very nicely, the meat tasted very nice. not like the throw away beef covered in salt like a lot of places try and get away with. next time i'd probably hold the mushrooms, but that's just a preference.

my wife really enjoyed her roasted beet salad, very fresh and the beets were roasted nicely.

their special rosemary fries and specialty mayo was very tasty. i would have like to see it a bit less thick, but the flavour was great.

their clam chowder was fantastic. probably my favourite part of the meal. it was so smooth and fresh. unlike other chowders that are thick and over done with cream. probably my favourite chowder i've had at a restaurant.

the last thing, i was pleased that this place actually managed to pour my guinness perfectly. i wish it would've had the clover on top, but i can't complain.

frankly i was just happy to see an eatery here that doesn't rely on the "whistler experience" to make people think average food is tastier then it actually is. just sick of places using the "apres" attitude to shovel average food and over priced drinks down your throat.

it's our first time at this restaurant. it's seat yourself, which is fine, but we weren't greeted or acknowledged. in fact, we got tired of waiting for a menu, so by friend just got up and grabbed the menus herself. the service didn't make any sense. why is one person taking our order but telling us that we have a different server who will take care of us? then the server in our section had no idea that we'd already ordered. then came the food. the presentation was meh. and it doesn't really matter, but the food was incredibly mediocre. i swear my salad was the super mix 7 salad that you can buy at the grocery store. i will not return to this place!

i loved the steak and guinness pie last time, so i had to order it again ($19).  we had a hearty bowl of clam chowder with arctic clams, yukon gold potatoes, bacon and herbs (+$3) as the side. the pie did not disappoint and was tender and flavourful in the guinness-spiked broth.

i use to love but now i won't go back.. we use to go to this pub every time we visited whistler. it was our go to place and would stay for hours drunking beer and eating great food. now service is very lacking and food is disgraceful. when my brother went in earlier in the day he sat down and waited to order a drink. after 20mins wait in he left. we then went for dinner thinking maybe it was because he was alone and they didn't notice. we found a spot and our server came by right away. great we were happy. then after ordering food, she never came back. we were waiting to order more beer and never got to order more. our food as well was so dffrent then what we ordered last year. one order was the same as last year and portion size was 1/3 what we had last time and same cost. my order was to come with fries and never did, couldn't even ask for it because our server never came back. got our bill and she dumped the machine on our table and left again. we couldn't even leave for another 15mins because we had the credit machine with us. food wise the only thing good was the nachos was large enough for one person to be full. everyone elce ate more when we got home.

coffee tasted like dishwasher.
soda bread was fantastic.
french toast was good.
pretty much everything else sucked.
eggs undercooked. beans were weird. sausage was gross. black pudding was... cooked blood, of course.
but the service was good.

just average food for some really high prices.. wasn't really too impressed, considering the high prices. i don't mind paying good $$ for exceptional dishes. we've had the fish and chips before and they are average. the peices of fish were small and stuck together. fries were fries.

this time we ordered the guiness burger. pretty plain jane burger for $16.50 if you ask me and a small cup of fries. i could of gone to furniture wear house down the village stroll and got the same burger and cup of fries for $4.95. ok there's def a bit more flavor in the beef but not worth 3x the price.

the clam chowder soup was delicious. but if your not a salt freak like i am, you'll be salted out. it was the end of the barrell and the last soup ordered so maybe that's why it was so salty. and trust me, i'm the last person to complain about things being too salty. i do love my salt. lol

and to top off our entire experience, the food took foreeeeeeeeeeeeevr. we were there over an hour. our burger took so long that we asked if we could get some soup just to tie us over. and even then, the soup took about 15min. the server had to go get it herself. and this isn't the first time the dishes have taken a really long time.

but on a good note, there is always a good vibe there. always live bands playing, very good atmosphere and really lively.

diner from vancouver. i've been here several times over the years, but they've recently increased their prices. i do realize that whistler is a tourist town, but a burger and a glass of white wine cost $35 before tip. really? that's a little ridiculous. burger was good, green salad mediocre.

dubh linn gate is an irish bar, but also offers breakfast and lunch menus. we began with a cup of clam chowder , and we both agreed this was one of the best clam chowders we’ve had! it had tons of clams, and something just made this chowder so flavourful! we were devouring this so quickly! bangers and mash – hearty pub classic with guinness infused bangers k got the bangers and mash for her entree. bangers essentially are sausages. the sauce was a guinness sauce and it came with some mashed potatoes. i was a little disappointed in this. i didn’t think it was that great and definitely no

great band and food. we visited last week february 17-23 2014. food was excellent, beer was great, service was great from the red headed server and the band, ruckus i think they were called were excellent! i understand they have been the house band for four years plus. i would recommend this place to anyone.
