this bakery came recommended by one of my foodie friend’s. he never steers me wrong so i made a beeline straight for this place. from the outside it looks interesting with a massive flower display. enter and you join a long queue of people ordering both to eat in and takeaway. plenty of seating and i spotted a separate room that was decorated quite nicely but think it was for their afternoon tea service.orderand pay at the counter and they’ll bring out any drinks and food that has to be prepared. they hand you over any cakes you order. service is friendly.

as it was lunch i wanted something savoury and got the turkey croque monsieur. it was cheesy on top with a gooey white sauce filling stuffed with turkey. not for someone with a small appetite. i also couldn’t notordersome dessert with really pretty and creative cakes on display. i had the coconut hazelnut religieuse. choux buns filled with hazelnut pastry cream and coconut ganache. so rich but definitely worth every kg you will stack on. the coffee is by the gentlemen baristas. i had a mocha and was a lovely blend.

the inventor of the cronut and world's best pastry chef 2017 has this london store that isn't the most conveniently located (ok, it isn't that far away but i don't go to victoria very often) where the wares are on sale and display. and they all look delicious i might add. lots of people ogle and decide what to choose and how much to spend. funnily enough the cronuts aren't (or weren't this day) on display at the counter and so i didn't see anyone in front of meorderthem. silly them.

most things were amazing, except the person who jumped the queue where it was my turn and a person came opposite side and ordered, the bad story was the guy took hisorderwithout apologizing to us!! i kept quiet until he finished and asked theorderguy, where does this queue starts from !! however, as said by him he couldn’t noticed that this person jumped the queue in front of all over the others. this was a disappointing to me and others. wanted to share this for their management to keep an eye for their success.

knightsbridge’s best cafe & bakery! there is literally nothing not to like about dominique angel bakery. cookie shots, macarons, croque monsieur, matcha lattes and baked sweets galore! gorgeous modern, and on a beautiful street. staff are lovely, service is wonderful. the food is blissful. everything so fresh and beyond delicious. best matcha latte we have ever had. cookie shots are amazing, you’ve never have milk and cookies like this before.

tip: doordera cookie shot - you have to even just once. don’t forget toordersome macarons or any of their baked goods to eat in or take away!

i've had this place in mind for a while now, so i finally decided to visit it and see what the fuss was all about.

first walking into the place, the setup is refreshing and well-designed. although it's a bit noisy and crowded, you can always try to find a table in the back little garden, which, for me, had a nicer quieter setup. i believe the reason for this rushed atmosphere is the fact that customers have to find tables for themselves, which results in people staring at you while you're eating and judging you if you take a bit longer to finish your bite. not the best situation to enjoy your food, but i was willing to go through it inorderto finally tick this bakery off my list.

after finding a table, we went to the till toorderour food, and had to spend an average of 15 minutes in line and that's only because we were lucky (as we were leaving the place, the line was twice as long). i understand that that's the price you pay when visiting famous places. this wasn't very convenient as it meant someone had to still be seated at the table for 15 minutes while others went toordertheir food, and then they had to leave again for 15 minutes, while the others are enjoying their dessert. i am not saying this is the worst experience, but just setting up clear expectations for anyone looking to visit dominique ansel's bakery anytime soon.

as for the food and its presentation; these were simply amazing! we were lucky to be visiting around valentine's day, so all desserts were dressed in pink. there was also a selection of valentine's goodies that you could purchase as gifts - all creatively named too! so selection and variety are 10/10! desserts are fairly priced and, most importantly, they have gluten free options!
