fantastic pizza, go for happy hour. while the dinner menu is a bit intimidating in terms of price, i have found great success having lunch or happy hour at domenica. each time, i ordered an unusual and delightful pizza, which was more than enough food for one. the cocktails available for happy hour are decent, even if they lean a bit towards over-sweet. location in the roosevelt is beautiful, of course. service was a little bonkers both times, but they were also exceptionally busy, so i can see how delays and mix-ups occur.

the food was excellent, but..... the food we had at domenica was outstanding, truly very good. the squid ink pasta (tagliolini) was very good and the corn and shrimp risotto was outstanding. the only thing i did not care for was the noise level. the location is beautiful but there is so much glass and stone that every little noise just bounces everywhere. it's one of the noisiest places i've eaten in. but, hats off to chef/owner john besh, it was truly great food.

stick with the pizzas. the tagliatelle with rabbit was barely better than noodles, chicken, and a spoon full of ragu - it just didn't work for me. but i will be back and try more of their pizzas.

loud atmosphere, non attentive service. food ok. feels pretentious and overrated. the john besh name is all it has going. foodies, go somewhere else!

got to scratch one off my nola list.. domenica! i didn't have a desire for a big meal as i was attending a concert at the theatre so a perfect choice was to split a pizza and have a couple beers with the lady. i honestly could have ordered anything from the menu, but we decided to order the smoked pork pizza. it was so freaking good! simple but wow on the flavors. smokiness from tender pieces of pork, garlic infused olive oil, fresh mozzarella, onion, peppers, and crispy outside crust but soft in the middle. cooked perfectly. waiter was super nice and his service was good. highly recommend to try!

i tried domenica for happy hour which meant half priced pizzas and select cocktails. i split the pizza with a friend (white clam for me and smoked pork for him). both were delicious. the crust is thin enough that the pizza doesn't feel heavy. i also ordered a bellini which was good. for entrees we split the maltagliati (braised beef) and squid ink tagliolini. both had great flavors. the maltagliati was hearty and rich. the squid ink was a bit lighter with a great mint twist that truly made the dish. the atmosphere is great and we had good service.

not sure we experienced anywhere near all this place had to offer... big bridal party in the middle of the afternoon...however, we were way less than impressed. sandwiches and pizza were nothing special. the roasted cauliflower app was shockingly a whole head and almost 2 cups of cheese spread... and our waitress let us order two to the table!! only half of one and a small wedge of the other was eaten... good, but out group of 10 could not even eat half!! we also have to carve ourselves... with a butter knife... not cool. cocktails were good but super expensive. staff acted annoyed that we were there. overall, many better choices in the area.

thanks for a memorable mother's day. we dined at domenica for mother's day - four generations sharing a wonderful family meal. as always the antipasti was fabulous as was the rabbit ragout, pizza, panini's - well everything really! thanks chef! we'll see you soon!

awesome pizza. we ate at domenica on our last day in new orleans - we had been eyeing it every time we left the hotel and finally decided to eat there before we left on sunday. it was amazing! it seemed pretty crowded at night but there wasn't a wait on sunday. the pizza was so delicious. it was also very refreshing to eat in a nice, clean restaurant with great service! the prices were also extremely fair for a restaurant in the roosevelt. definitely will go back on our next trip!

much improved.... they are finally really gettin' goin' in the kitchen at domenica. when it first opened, i wasn't overly impressed and probably wouldn't have given a like or a dislike.

but they have really improved a lot since they opened. the happy hour really is one of the best deals in town. it is a little pricey at my price point for dinner. lunch is a much better option, in my opinion.

i would also note that most of the menu (pizza being a notable exception) is really inspired by northern italy rather than southern italy. i see some people on here saying "oh this isn't italian," well, this is not the place for southern italian red sauce dishes. if you want those, go to impastato's or somewhere like that....

great service, great food. went here recently after wanting to go for a while. the atmosphere is nice, fine dining but kind of casual as well. i am a fan of john besh and this restaurant was true to form. our server, joey, was excellent and suggested a great bottle of wine and his food suggestions throughout the meal were also wonderful. all around i had a great experience and would suggest this restaurant to anyone who likes authentic italian food or just the dining experience.

a fine dining italian restaurant attached to the roosevelt hotel in the cbd. the ambience was stunning with unique art on many of the walls, sleek mesh screens to create a cosy space. we started with the deliciously cheesy arancini balls in a basil pesto dipping sauce and continued munching on roasted cauliflower with whipped feta before the main event. i couldn’t say no to a squid ink blue crab pasta, the the small sized serve as i’ve been caught out by american portion sizes too many times already. was the perfect size for me and was yummy. kd’s surprising names marinara pizza was also very good. the only seafood was anchovies and it was red based with chilli and no cheese (add it as an option if you need). as tempted as we were by the delicious dessert we struggled to fit in anything other than a couple of affogatos.

service was friendly and not too pushy and an accident out in the kitchen boxing up the remainder of our pizza left us with a full replacement which was welcomed.
