great gourmet italian!. i was a little dubious at first, only because i had heard some not great reviews. maybe i had low expectations, but i loved it. the antipasta plate was awesome--especially the deep fried bread pockets and lardo. the burratta was creamy and fresh and my truffle risotto was extremely rich and decadent. both of my friends got the lasagna which was huge for 1 person and a really tasty variation on the traditional. the service was wonderful and went above and beyond, the bartender created a special drink for my friend, the maitre de introduced himself and checked on us and the waiter was so helpful and full of recommendations. the decor is not typical new orleans, but the inside is comfortable and great looking--very polished and upscale, but without being tacky or over the top. even the price seemed reasonable for the amount and quality of the food--around $145 (with tip) for 3 people including antipasta plate, 3 pastas, and primi, as well as a few drinks. i am really surprised by the negative reviews, but some of it may be that this is not typical italian comfort food, but a gourmet version. while i thought the price was reasonable for the quality and quantity, this is not huge plates of stick-to-your-ribs italian food. i loved it and will return, hopefully soon!
