home-style dominican cuisine in the flower city. sign me up as yet another d'mangu enthusiast. situated in the bleak industrial heartland of suburban rochester, d'mangu stands out like a shiny gem. it is another outstanding ethnic cuisine restaurant that is family run. you are greeted with a smile by the gracious staff into a nicely appointed, spotless caribbean-decored dining area. you canorderfrom the buffet or from the menu. i had lechon asado (pulled pork) with yellow rice, red beans and plantains. it was all succulent and in ample portions. next time, i'll try one their tantalizing mofongo dishes. each bite takes you away from cool, staid upstate ny to the pulsing warm vibes of the dominican republic. the owner, luis, is welcoming and quick with a funny line. rochesterians are fortunate to have a wide diversity of cuisines to choose from, of which d'mangu is one. give this one a try. you won't be disappointed.
