delaire graff restaurant

as a treat for our anniversary dinner, it was worth the money and the best dinner we’ve had in ages. the service is outstanding, setting fantastic, food and wine remarkable; best tartare i’ve ever had. you won’t leave disappointed and it’ll be our next choice for a special event.

delaire graff blew my mind. my wife and i were greeted with spectacular panoramic views of the valley. we were welcomed by friendly staff who showed us the wine tasting area. at r50pp we decided to do some wine tasting. the delaire graff 2013 chardonnay was exceptional, with a strong element of butterscotch. it was decadent and easy to drink. i regret not buying a bottle while i was there. this wine estate is a should definitely be on your bucket list!

we did the tasting menu with wine pairing option. the restuarant was very accommodating to cater for a strictly vegetarian diner. each course was delightful and well paired with the wine. we got two desserts and the pumpkin ice cream was delicious. wonderful experience!

very disappointing experience. the staff are too laid back with a very lazy body language. there’s no warmth in the restaurant or from the staff. outdoor area was covered but there was no rain forecast. menu is limited too. the place has certainly deteriorated over the years

the venue and the views are gorgeous. waitstaff are friendly, knowledgeable and very punctual. our set menu was fabulous. we had dinner the previous evening at indochine and were simply blown away by the quality of the overall experience. in fairness, indochine is a more intimate experience where delaire graff is more open and roomy. although just eclipsed by indochine, delaire graff is excellent and certainly worth returning to.

outstanding sophisticated exceptional

beautiful place. the service you get from the staff is amazing, but unfortunately the food is way over priced for what you get. personally i did not find anything spectacular about anything in the menu or the wines. the duck (i ordered) was good but nothing to rave about. unfortunate.

delaire has always been expensive but the location and experience was worth it. it has now become unbelievably expensive and catering for the overseas market.

r 380 for a main course , a side of parmesan chips , r110 ??? so r500 for a main , give or take???

food is good but not competing with the top restaurants who charge those prices.

i really felt i had been ripped . however the place is full ( foreigners) and the location and service is top notch.

just become too expensive for what is on offer, but maybe i’m not their market as a recession crushed south african.

i don’t even know where to begin.

just driving into this place...you are left breathless. the views, the statues...all of it just makes you gasp at every turn.

now the food. my starter was oyster and they were amazing. i had a peas, truffle and prawn risotto on special for the day for mains...it was so delicious and well cooked and perfectly seasoned, i wanted to cry. i had a white chocolate dessert that was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy with the fresh berries.

this is one of the most expensive bills i’ve racked up but i would pay it again and again and again. delaire graaf is 5 star and outstanding in every way!

the most incredible view awaits after you enter this fantastic restaurant. top notch service, decor, wine and food. the art is also amazing. a must visit, just ensure that you make a reservation and bring your piggy bank

delaire graff wine estate is situated in stellenbosch on the hells hoogte pass. nestled among the mountains and vineyards is one of the top rated restaurants in south africa. the plan was to meet an hour before our dinner reservation to enjoy the view from the balcony while enjoying a pre-dinner drink. eric and bev were late due to traffic and the balcony doors were closed due to the wind. after reading through the fairly good selection of single malts, dave and i chose to enjoy a whisky in front of the fire while waiting. i read through the extensive wine list but we chose to stick with whisky for the evening. we were shown to our nice large table as soon as eric and bev arrived and we began chatting while drinks were brought for them. we eventually paused long enough to read the menu and our waiter came over to take our order. he let us know about menu extras and confirmed with bev that her seafood allergy didn’t include mussels.

this restaurant is world class. i have been twice now in the last 18 months and both times it was exceptional!
food is inventive, flavoursome and perfect in every way. the service is top notch, attentive, but not overbearing which is perfect.
the views and surrounds are out of this world. i have dined in a few michelin star restaurants and i can say that this experience is up there.
highly recommended.

we had an outstanding experience at delaire graff. we were on our honeymoon and celebrating valentine’s day there. the staff are super nice as they signed a card wishing us a happy wedding! it was a beautiful gesture that we won’t forget! the ambiance is beautiful, the scenery outstanding and the food was really good. must try place in cape town!
