on our way to goa , we stopped atkolhapurfor a break and had lunch at one of the most famous restaurants here .
we ordered 3 vegetarian special limited thalis and a mutton fry thali . the staff seemed disinterested at best and it definitely didn’t feel like a fine dine experience from the word go .
the thalis appeared slowly and the portion sizes seemed disappointingly low.the food tasted average but not great and there was nothing that “wowed” us. the baingan was good and so was the paneer and rice but the dal was very average fare. the mutton thali was no better , as i said before , the portions were sufficient to feed a 4 year old maybe. strangely only the veg special comes with dessert .
pricing is on the higher side and not an experience i would personally recommend .

a must visit when you are inkolhapurfor their beautiful thaalis, both chicken and mutton! the pandhra rassa is to die for and the chappatti so delicious and freshly off the tawa that you could eat it by itself !!

being a regular visitor to kolhapur, this is a must do on my two day visit, always!!

went tokolhapurfor the first time from pune and did some research a day before for places to have authentic kolhapuri thalis. shortlisted dehaati, hotel parekh and patlancha wada. went to dehaati and ordered mutton fry thali and mutton chops. mutto fry thali had mutton fry, kheema, paandhra taambda rassa and bhakar. taste was really great and the mutton was really cooked well. also it was goats meat and not sheeps so it had my full approval. we ordered mutton chops which were the highlight of our visit here. mutton chops here just might be the best mutton chops in maharashtra..lol i know its a big claim but the chops here were perfection. the masala applied on them was very tasty and it was just too delicious. we ended up ordering it again. the staff there is polite and the ambience is good. i wish we had dehaati in pune 😉

this restaurant is know for asal kolhapuri thali meal. restaurant was recommended to me by one of my friend, so thought let's give it a try. to keep is very simple -

its was authentickolhapurmeal with good amount of spices 😝 so people who prefer spicy cuisine will love it. the staff was also polite and friendly and the service was quick. please do not consider it as a normal thali restaurant specially for the people traveling from mumbai as they have some bigger expectations when they hear about thali restaurant.

quick, hygienic and tasty food with good decent service is what they provide.

dehaatikolhapurwas one of the highly rated restaurants on many other platforms. but its rating on zomato was in lower 3. i was wondering why is that and decided to still try it out.

we reached for lunch after some waiting we were seated.
the restaurant ambience was good nice clean and modern.

their speciality are all you can eat thalis and special kolhapuri mutton and chicken preparations.

we tried out dehaati non veg special thali. it had following

tambda and pandhra rassa: perhaps only good thing in thali.. nicely spiced and tasty rassa served hot.

mutton masala: very average dish. just had red color and no flavour or spices.

chicken fry: average dish. only color and no tatse.

mutton kheema: very less quantity of minced mutton and more onions and oil. disappointed

mutton goli pulav: pulav with mutton meatballs.

additional starter

mutton lonche: very bad. absolutely no flavour at all.

solkadhi: good balance of taste and flavour

this was total disappointment having meal here and totally ruin my trip. i would not recommend anyone visiting here.

service was slow and took 20 mins to get food.

this is one the best restaurant in kolhapur. they mainly serve non veg and there are very few options for vegetarian food mainly comprising of a thali. their thali serves such good variety of vegetables for veg and very tasty chicken and other non vegetarian items in non veg thali.
if you are looking for a joint to eat at inkolhapurthen you must visit this place and try out their delicious thalis. i am sure you won’t be disappointed.

coming tokolhapurafter ages, was very excited to try the authentickolhapurcuisine starting with pandhara and tambda rassa. after going through zomato i zeroed in dehaati and was really looking forward to satisfy my taste buds. while this place had perfect pandhara rassa and tambda rassa, rest of the meal was sheer disappointment as it did not deliver anything in terms of taste. the mutton chops fry was not cooked properly and both chicken and mutton thalis were poor on taste. will surely recommend this place but only to enjoy the rassa and also that it is hygienic and the ambience too is descent. but it's definitely a one time visit only.

dehati is a very famous restaurant inkolhapurwhich serves amazing and authentic kolhapuri food.
the ambience is perfect for a royal dine in.
the service is quick and the staff members are polite and attentive.
the food quality is superb with fresh ingredients which adds extra flavour to the food.
the chicken thali has the perfect combination of spices and the right balance. the tambda and pandhara rassa are to die for. the quantity is good for the price and the taste.
the veg thali here has the famous akkha masoor and is also as tasty as it can be.
overall a very satisfying experience.
highly recommended for its authenticity and taste.

the best authentickolhapurmutton thali you would get in kolhapur.
one definitely can't miss out on dining here if you happen to be in kolhapur.
must haves: mutton masala, kheema and sol kadhi.

definitely a 5/5 for dehaati. whenever we travel viakolhapurthis is a sure stop for lunch/dinner for us.

the chapati and rice are also worth mentioning. have been to this place for 10+ times and this place has never disappointed me. surely worth visiting when you are in kolhapur. wish they open a branch in pune as well!!!
