thefoodof dehati is satisfying but the service of zomato is worst..2 pandhara rasa and 2 tambda rasa container were squashed and it was all spilled in the polythene bag.

we visited the restaurant on jan 2, 2022 and ordered dehaati special thali and mutton fry thali. the quantity was sufficient, though thefoodwas not spicy, it had nice flavour and was delicious. the overall service was also good.

on our way to goa , we stopped at kolhapur for a break and had lunch at one of the most famous restaurants here .
we ordered 3 vegetarian special limited thalis and a mutton fry thali . the staff seemed disinterested at best and it definitely didn’t feel like a fine dine experience from the word go .
the thalis appeared slowly and the portion sizes seemed disappointingly low.thefoodtasted average but not great and there was nothing that “wowed” us. the baingan was good and so was the paneer and rice but the dal was very average fare. the mutton thali was no better , as i said before , the portions were sufficient to feed a 4 year old maybe. strangely only the veg special comes with dessert .
pricing is on the higher side and not an experience i would personally recommend .

paneer sabji and daal were too oily. a little less oil would do the trick. other than that, everyone loved thefoodin my family.

very good place to experience some toned down version of the authentic kolhapuri cuisine. i have mentioned toned down consciously as thefoodwas not very hot for my palate and i do not have high tolerance for spicy food. the staff is very attentive and welcoming. please reach when the restaurant starts as the place filled up in 10mins and there was waiting. also, there is no valet parking n finding a place to park will surely be a challenge. thefoodprices are economical. all in all a pleasant experience. if you have been to maratha samrat in pune, the entire experience will be on the same lines.

we had visited here as a group of 8 people in december. this is no way "authentic" kolhapuri. we ordered special mutton thaali, chicken thaali and also veg. the only things that tasted good were tambda pandhra rassa. rest of thefoodwas nowhere close to authentic kolhapuri. the texture and taste was more close to north indian than kolhapuri. check the pictures posted here by other reviewers, thefoodlooks more north indian than kolhapuri. we love north indianfoodbut we were there for authentic kolhapuri cuisine. goli (or goti?) pulaav was even more disappointing. the meat balls did not taste like meat, the pulaav tasted like pulaav though. so the mutton thaali suddenly tasted like pure vegfoodat the end. all of us were disappointed. would never recommend this restaurant.

this restaurant is know for asal kolhapuri thali meal. restaurant was recommended to me by one of my friend, so thought let's give it a try. to keep is very simple -

its was authentic kolhapur meal with good amount of spices 😝 so people who prefer spicy cuisine will love it. the staff was also polite and friendly and the service was quick. please do not consider it as a normal thali restaurant specially for the people traveling from mumbai as they have some bigger expectations when they hear about thali restaurant.

suggested by a localite as currently the best place for kolhapuri thali in the city. with no further ado we straight hit this place for lunch on a weekday. the place was jam packed and we had to hold our hungry senses for a couple of minutes.

ambiance(3/5): the interior is pretty basic and nothing fancy. though clean and neat.

food(4.5/5):foodwas good, taste as well as quality wise. being married to a kolhapuri family, i would still rate the homemade preparations more. we had the special thali which had chicken as well as mutton, mutton thalis with mutton masala, mutton fry. and mutton chops.

pandhara rassa(4/5): good. not the best though. would love if it hit the throat a little more with the pungency.

tambada rassa(5/5): this was a burst of flavours. perfectly spiced with red chilli and all the garam masala and just the right amount of mutton jus.

mutton masala(3.5): taste wise this was good. though the masala seemed to not marry the mutton pieces as well. seems like the mutton was cooked separately and then stirred with the prepared masala while served. on the other hand the mutton pieces were succulent and melt in the mouth.

chicken masala(3/5): the masala was exactly same as the one in the mutton. go for the mutton instead.

mutton chop(4.5/5): the meat just came off the bone. this was cooked to perfection with good spices. the bone was chewable as well. haven’t had such well cooked mutton in a while. spices could have been a bit more better though.

mutton fry(4/5): again almost the same spices as in mutton chop.

special mutton kofta rice(5/5): a must must have !! the meat balls were amaze!! and rice super flavourful, lathered with ghee.

solkadhi(4.5/5): perfection!!

service(4/5): prompt and welcoming.

vfm:(5/5): 400 per thali is a total steal for the taste and quality.

this is one the best restaurant in kolhapur. they mainly serve non veg and there are very few options for vegetarianfoodmainly comprising of a thali. their thali serves such good variety of vegetables for veg and very tasty chicken and other non vegetarian items in non veg thali.
if you are looking for a joint to eat at in kolhapur then you must visit this place and try out their delicious thalis. i am sure you won’t be disappointed.

i visited dehati recently after getting recommendation from my friends and family. the ambience is simple yet elegant and seating is comfortable.

i tried chicken masala thali and chicken fry portion. chicken masala and fry portions were full of flavours and the tambada pandhara were extremely well blended. the chapati was served hot. the pulav portion was also nicely done.

overall : service was prompt and restaurant was hygienic. the staff was polite and friendly. as my daughter was not well we asked them to reheat thefoodwhich we were carrying with us and the staff happily agreed to it. paid rs 660/- which was worth every penny. i must say it was undoubtedly one of the best places i have visited and is a highly recommended place.

dehati is a very famous restaurant in kolhapur which serves amazing and authentic kolhapuri food.
the ambience is perfect for a royal dine in.
the service is quick and the staff members are polite and attentive.
thefoodquality is superb with fresh ingredients which adds extra flavour to the food.
the chicken thali has the perfect combination of spices and the right balance. the tambda and pandhara rassa are to die for. the quantity is good for the price and the taste.
the veg thali here has the famous akkha masoor and is also as tasty as it can be.
overall a very satisfying experience.
