my dad, little rock native chef dave williams, opened the doors to this family owned restaurant december 20, 1993 becoming a staple businesslunchspot in the heart of downtown. serving soups, salads, and sandwiches during the weekday and flexing his culinary muscles on friday nights. i may be a bit biased, but this place is hard to beat.

jazzy diner, first impression. this is not your usual friday night music hall, far from it. this is a downtownluncheatery (open for lunches only during the work week). but for friday night only it is transformed with an upscale menu that varies each week. the food is beyond good! family run with dad the chef. we so enjoyed our meal, from the salads to the entrees. the rolls were unique. the cheesecake was wonderful. my wife's pork loin was delicious as was my catfish.

then we get to the music, jazz, not elevator canned music or hard rock, but jazz. the musicians are family and friends and play good jazz until closing at 9:30.

this place will be high on our list for friday evening meals from here on.

cheddar rotel bread?!!?!!. i am relatively new to little rock and just began working near downtown so have been trying all the variouslunchspots. dave's place is without question the best sandwich i've had in all of little rock - there is literally more meat than bread. and speaking of the bread...today i tried the andrewwood on cheddar rotel and it was incredibly delicious. great value, great food, and if you enjoy supporting "mom & pop" places instead of chains than you can't go wrong here.

this is one of the few remaining family owned restaurants in town that has the entire family working thelunchand dinner shifts. you get great food, and a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere cultivated by dave and his family. anyone who appreciates an authentic, no-frills dining experience would love dave's place. be sure to get an iced tea and the dave's special sandwich. yum!
