such wonderful.... outdoor seating! had reservations on a saturday evening, surprisingly not very busy. restaurant had free valet parking which was kind of nice. you have actually go down a floor to get to the restaurant which was very unique. we were greeted when we walked in and had patio seating. i highly suggest outdoor seating on a nice day, the setup with the waterfall is very cool.

onto the service and food. the service - i believe this name was michael - did an outstanding job. he was polite, preofessional, allowed us plenty of time to think about what we want, and had some great suggestions. we had filet mignon, mac & cheese, and scalloped potatoes. the meat was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned, barely a need for the steak sauce that came with it. the mac & cheese with truffles and potatoes were a perfect compliment to our meal, with the standout being the potatoes. i'm not great at having all these neat desciptions for food, but they were verygoodand baked well.

sure i dropped about $120 for two people but the food, service, and ambiance was worth it as an everyone "once and a while" treat. will definitely go back if i have plans on being in the area.

got seated right away. waitress came right away. set there for over 40 minutes waiting for our food while people that came in 20 minutes after u.s. got their food. my husband finally asked our waitress how much longer. they had lost our ticket then our food came right out.

the food was good. ribs were too fatty, but hadgoodflavor. fried okra was cold, but they quickly made it right and brought out fresh. baked beans, fries, potato salad, mashed potatoes & gravy were all good.

my daughter ordered a medium steak...came out mostly rare, but she was so hungry she ate it.

everyone was super friendly.

might try it again...hoping it won't take forever!

good food. probably a little pricey but not terrible. i got the salmon and my husband got tuna. both dishes were cooked well and tasted great. dakotas mudslide pie was recommended and it was awesome! we are not from dallas just visiting. so chances of us going back are slim, but overralgoodexperience.

we wanted to try a steakhouse that we had not gone to yet…let’s see if dakota’s can make our top three steakhouses in the dfw area!

om: al biernat’s has always been our gold standard for steakhouses, followed by the dallas chop house. i had only been to dakota’s once and remember it being pretty good…but wow, it blew my expectations away within seconds of being seated. dakota’s is “underground”, that is that we took an elevator going down from the street level. we asked for outdoor seating, and they placed our table right next to a beautiful little man-made waterfall feature. they decorated the area with some gourds, nice touch that matched with the time of year. our waiter, allen, was one of the best that we’ve had at any steakhouse – he was very polite and attentive throughout. i ordered chicken and rice soup for an appetizer, which was outstanding. my main course was a 12 oz. filet, which rivaled al biernat’s!! whaaaa??!!? it needed no sauce at all and was cooked perfectly! it was tender, had awesome flavor, easy to cut…just wow! and the side dish that we ordered was mac & cheese, and yes this was great too! i could go on and on about the overall experience of dakota’s, but there is no doubt that this is one of our top three steakhouses in the dfw area, and i would even say it skyrocketed to the top of our list. ambiance, service, food, we loved it all. try to get a seat outside!!!

nom: i really had a hard time imagining at steakhouse that would be asgoodor even super close to howgoodal biernat’s is. well we found it! i had never been to dakota’s but had seen it on the occasions i had to drive thru downtown dallas. it’s pretty sneaky the way you could miss it! think of it as dallas’ subterranean restaurant. my handsome love asked that we be seated outside and they sat us in the courtyard under the stars by the waterfall. the space is prettygoodconsidering the limited outdoor area they have to work with. most of the wall was decorated with foliage, gourds and orange and white pumpkins! it was really beautiful. our waiter was spectacular…yes better than any other that has served us. i ordered the salad to start with ranch and it was not your typical wedge. more like a head of lettuce they shear the ends off. the bacon on my salad was amazing…i think i ate that first… i also ordered the rib eye steak and it was absolutely delicious! the sauce they serve on the side is also delicious but the steak could stand on its own. we also ordered the mac n cheese and it was the second best we’ve had!! i can’t wait to see this place at the holidays with my handsome love!!!

nice food. my wife and i ate at dakota's for the 1st time a week ago. for or 1st meal we had the pot roast and enjoyed it very much. we have been back 3 times and so far all the food has been very good.. tried their chicken and dumplings on 10-4-13 and was very surprised as the food quality was verygoodas was the pot roast. in the past 1 1/2 weeks now we have ate their 4 times and the food is very tasty.for desert we have had the chocolate pie and a brownie. all very good. if the food stay's this way they have a new full time customer.
waiter is a little slow at times they get to doing some thing and forget to come back to the table to see if you need any thing. all is livable with it thou.
will be back and i have called 2 friends to try to get them to come and try the food.
so far i like the food we have tried.

pleasantly surprised. my wife and i are from tuttle, but now live in broken arrow. on a visit home over thanksgiving, we came here for dinner with my in-laws. i didn't have high expectations. however, the food was really good, as was the service. i had the ribs and the hot links. the ribs were flavorful and tender. they also have agood(and fresh) salad bar. my wife had the chicken fried chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. we will definitely be back over the christmas holidays.

not an everyday restaurant, and not everyday cooking, either. i consider this the best "romantic restaurant" in the metroplex. you can really surprise a date who knows nothing about this place when you park the car and then walk her out to what looks like a little guardbox in the middle of lincoln plaza. then you take the glass elevator down to the subterranean dining room. and if you're smart, you'll ask to be seated out on the patio, near the waterfall, under the stars. i promise, you won't hear the traffic at all. and your date will smile at the strolling bread guy with the hot-box on a leather strap around his neck. this is primarily a steak house and the food is very good, though the prices are pretty high for someone like me -- $36 for a new york strip steak, $32 for the crab crusted redfish, $12 for the deviled egg appetizer -- but you don't come here because you're on a budget. also, the prices are a little less gulp-inducing at lunch. the cider-glazed pork chop is excellent, as is the filet mignon and the veal chop. (and that covers the three times i've eaten here.) the sides -- sorry, "accompaniments" -- are very good, too, from the roasted wild mushrooms to the chili-spiced onion rings. the service is uniformly excellent, very attentive and professional. (no trainee waiters here.) no, this isn't a place i would (or could) eat at once a week, but it's agoodplace to store up special memories.

dakota's, while being more expensive than what i am used to, was also head and shoulders above what i usually expect. at least 5-6 people assisted our table, taking orders, clearing plates, and asking how our meals were. the staff was highly professional, and food was very tasty. i had the 8 oz filet mignon for 34 dollars, it was a tad rarer than i usually like, but still very delicious. the black truffle mac and cheese was great as well. dakota's is by no means budget, but if you want to impress, this is agoodchoice
