i have ordered several times here and thought the food was good and at times great, but today i was given the worst pasta i have ever had. maybe since it was carry out they thought they could get away with serving bad food. the ravioli was way too thick and so was the cavatelli. the sauce and the filling was the only thing that made the dish edible..there was way too much olive oil on the salad.even dessert the best part of the meal wasn't great i might give them another try on the pizza since they have been consistently pretty good, but would not recommend getting the pasta. i hope in the future if i do go back i'll get better food.

don't get the hype. people kept telling me to try it and when we did, the experience was poor (sat us right next to a family with 3 kids despite other open tables). also our pizza was watery and the crust was soggy. not worth the hype. sad, because i really want a local pizza place like that to make great pizza.

anyone who thinks this pizza is not good probably thinks dominos pizza is good.

for what i received on my visit i think i paid too much. crostatas is trying too hard to be something special and, in my opinion, is failing. paying fifteen dollars for a small pizza that has cold toppings and six dollars for a bottle of water with lemon guarantees that i won't be back. to top it all off, later on, on the night i visited, i was sidelined with a severe case of what i can only call "gastric distress."

when entering crostatas for the first time you will certainly notice the wood burning oven. it has clearly been finally crafted with old world italian artisianship. even better, it delivers a great pizza.

yeah. antipasto misto , basil and garlic pizza , spumoni with coffee (you gotta do the coffee).

updated review. a couple of things to add:
(a) the new pizzaiolo is great. he doesn't have the personality of anthony but dare i say, his pies are better.
(b) they changed the crust recipe and i like the new recipe better.
(c) strange thing for a review but the coffee is amazing. like the coffee you get in italy. even if you just order a cup of regular coffee.
(d) don't forget the spumoni. the real thing.
(e) thank you john for caring enough about food to offer this level of quality in our city.

bring your camera. you will want to take a photo of your pizza first because it is just so beautiful: the perfect golden brown of the crust made with tipo 00 flour imported from naples, the green of the fresh basil, the white of the real mozzarella di bufala which they fly in from italy, the red of the sauce made with san marzano tomatoes. amazing.

great dinner. not a broad menu, but what is there is beautifully prepared and worth the trip for sure! wonderful appetizers, fabulous pizza, some nice wines-will be going back. often.

love the pizza!!. i just picked up a pizza last night at crostatas rustic pizza and was very impressed. i recently returned from nyc where i had amazing pizzas and this was every bit as good. i had the classico and was in heaven with the first bite. i never would of thought of putting carmelized onions on a pizza but it gave it a slightly sweet, unique taste. my only complaint is that the pizza wan't large enough. they need to create an extra large so i could enjoy it a little bit longer.
i'll be back to try the other items on the menu.

fantastic. we visited the restaurant last week for dinner and had a most enjoyable and delicious meal. we were greeted by the friendly host who promptly sat us where we could watch all that is going on. the meal was freshly made, the pizza outstanding. you've got to try the new mushroom pizza with carmelized onions, it was amazing. the homemade desserts were also delicious.the servers were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. it has a warm atmosphere, wonderful menu and we will surely make crostatas our favorite restaurant.

great cuisine, outstanding service. from the appetizers, to the salads, to the pizzas, to the wonderful desserts and the incredible coffee, crostatas serves up delicious, creative fare at reasonable prices. the atmosphere is comfortable, the servers most welcoming, attentive and helpful. this is an all-around terrific place!
