great stuff! thanks, d-hump!. we lived in houston for 8 years, so we know what great barbecue is. two years ago, we moved to the orlando area and have been having withdrawals ever since. my husband had to come to arlington for business reasons, so we jumped at the chance to get some good barbecue again. we ended up in a motel near a place called bone daddy's house of smoke. not being familiar with the place, i pulled up this website to look at reviews. more people than not didn't care for the place, and a particular reviewer by the name of d-hump got my attention. since he said he had eaten at most of the barbecue places in the fort worth area, i immediately respected his opinion. after reading his negative report on bone daddy's, i decided to look at his other reviews to see what barbecue place he did like. i was very glad that i did! cousin's is right up there with the best! you could taste the smoky flavor in the brisket, the meat melted in your mouth like good barbecue should, and the sauce wasn't bad either. the french fries tasted like they must have been made from fresh potatoes rather than frozen. the only negative i found was the ranch-style beans which i thought tasted odd. if you avoid these, you should have an a+ experience!

lunch was great and the service even better.

price was comparable with most other bbq places at $25.44 for 2 lunch meals with soft drinks.

highly recommend stopping in.

posted fri, 08/23/2013 - 11:44 by smoke daddy joint:  cousins bar-b-q smoke daddy, xo, and gus would return for kielbasa and barbecue beans.  most of the barbecue was tainted with bad smoke and/or spiced to the point that the meat was unrecognizable.  sides and desserts were pretty good, but skip the plain pintos in favor of the tangy barbecue beans.  main fare: sliced brisket - smoke & salt.  firm, stand-up style brisket. looks tender.  a bit rough on the smoke. rib - good color and ring.  texture is ok, even if the rib is a bit dry. however, application of smoke and spice are overwhelming. kielbasa - good meaty sausage.  nice flavors here. pulled pork - seasoned with table sauce??? not sure, but the combination of sauce and smoke wipes out any meat flavor. chopped brisket - spiced with a spice blend not found on our table.  flavor profile is weird, and so bold that you can't tast the beef. jalapeno-cheese sausage - good spice.  ok sausage... but feels like its trying too hard to be p

the best chicken. the best cue chicken ever. only problem is on take out orders if you want to go plates you have to pay for them.this is the only place i have ever been too that charges for togo/paper plates.also if you order the pound of chopped cue take out , you dont get buns unless you opt for the higher priced menu deal.who severs chopped cue with no buns.really

always good bbq. very consistent. get the ribs !!!! whew boy !!!

i was raised on cousin's bbq, still love it, it's the best. my children love it too, and they're very picky! if you want something different, try their frito pie. very very good! and the best fried okra

cousin's. really good bbq, kind of expensive though. i really liked the brisket :) super fast service for fresh food by the way.

don't waste your time!. after driving 40 minutes to cousin's i should have know it was going to be a bad meal.

1st- the place is in a strip mall. no bbq place should be in a strip mall.

2nd- the food was cold (ribs, chicken, mac&cheese and beans).

3rd- the staff could have cared less about anyone in the restaurant.

i should have listened to the reviews on urbanspoon and went to burger king or ordered room service.

this place is ok and i mean just ok. i've had better bbq in my lifetime the people that gave rave reviews about this place have not had good bbq. i'll only eat cousins if it's catered somewhere of if i'm by a relatives house and it's the only thing left to eat other than that i'm not spending a dime of mine ever again on this less than subpar bbq.

good lunch option, not the best bbq but certainly not the worst. service was very friendly, quick and attentive.

love cousin's, love the payne family. this is the bbq i grew up on. absolutely the best.

cousins on saturday. i probably eat at this place 2-3 times a week but i always vary it up. the menu offers a nice variety of meat from turkey, chicken, sausage, brisket and even pulled pork. for vegetarians, they have a nice sized baked potato, an assortment of salads and the best fried okra i have ever had. i cater this to my clients all the time and they love it. you can always see me there on a saturday.

fall off the bone. cousin's is one of the better bbq places i've been to in the metroplex. unlike many of the bigger chains, where much of their taste is manufactured, cousin's was legit, smokey goodness. meat was super-tender, especially the brisket and ribs, and the chopped beef was juicy and delicious. cousin's also does a great job on their sauce... not the ketchup-like sauce of some places, but a good, slightly runny, spicy addition to their succulent meat.
