awesome food, great survice, and beautiful atomosphere. costantino's ristorante is one of the best places that i have ever eaten at! from the costantino martini, which btw had a delicious blend of pineapple infused vodka with fresh peach puree mmmmm :), to the homemade coppa costantino for dessert the whole entire experience was awesome. the server was friendly and very attentive, we did not need to wait long for anything. i took my mother there for mother's day and we sat in the patio area which was beautifully layed out with flowers outlining the entire area. i must say that i completely disagree with the prior review, because my food was perfect and the homemade pasta that i had was "out of this world!" additionally i ventured to the upstairs dining room "looking for the bathroom" i thought that the furnishings tastefully showed italian culture by the paintings on the wall to the polished gold railings leading up to the upstairs dining area. i mean i didnt get ketchup but then again i didnt go to federal hill to order french fries and chicken fingers. lol. maybe mcdonalds was the right place for this person anyways? i do not know , but i had a great time and would so recommend the parpadelle bolangese. this restaurant is by far the best on the hill! buon appetito:)

just don't!. terrible experience. went for mother's day and was seated upstairs in the tacky dining room. (broken mirrored columns and flies free of charge.) what kind of professional wait staff doesn't know if they serve bottled water? and then, when they realize they do (at almost 5 bucks a pop) tell you it's not cold and ask if you want to drink it warm? and then...when you politely decline...bring it to you in a utensil crock with no ice? info on the menu was about as useless. me: "what have you tried?" him: "nothing much." awesome.

while the hand made on site pasta was good...it was ice cold and we had to send it back to be re-done. which meant they nuked it. and dried it out. and served it only luke warm. really? really???

we had children with us and ordered them chicken fingers and fries. we asked if they had ketchup before we ordered. apparently that was not the case. so they brought us bbq sauce...which the kids don't eat...but we could hear them arguing at the bottom of the stairs about how it's close enough. which led to my 5 year old niece tapping her father's arm and asking what "@&$^!*%" meant. i didn't hear his reply because i was busy shooing the flies away from my warm water.

the manager came over because the kids wouldn't eat the chicken, our pasta was dry and gummy and out of 5 entrees only 2 were eaten. she took off the pasta dish but said she was only comping 1 meal that night and that the "kids should have eaten the chicken without ketchup." obviously she has no children of her own. we stopped at mcdonalds where they do have cold bottled water and ketchup for one's nuggets.

bottom line: 135 bucks for 2 consumable meals. (and no rave reviews on those, either...they were just "okay.") the yelling waitstaff, surly manager, tacky decor, hungry children, blue air from all the swearing and the flies were included gratis. i wish i had gone down the road to one of the many other restaurants that the district offers. poorly done, constantino's...poorly done.

restaurant is clearly on the decline. i have been going there for years but the past few years the service has been terrible, the employees seem very unprofessional, and the atmosphere has slowly become extremely classless. venda is certainly not what it used to be

a mixed experience. we went on a friday night and were one of only 3 groups of diners in the restaurant. service was friendly, prompt & attentive. the food was very good, we ordered a mix of "specials" and regular menu items and everything was delicious. our only hesitation in recommending this restaurant was the atmosphere. lighting was way too bright, almost harsh. the background music too loud and the floor badly needed vacuuming. those detracted from what otherwise was a nice evening.

officially the worst service of my life. it's took an hour and a half for them to slice ham, overcook pasta and burn lamb.

a restaurant must!. i'm a culinary student and i am working for the chef that is the director of my school program and he highly recommended costantino's. when my classmate and i went for dinner tonight both of us were highly impressed with the location, vallet parking, cheery staff, amazing menu, the chef, and well everything from start to finish. the menu may seem pricey, but you get if what you pay for and you pay for high quality food and presentation. i'd say 5 out of 5 stars and for a culinary student that is big to be that impressed.

crazy. they should be ashamed what they charge for a dish of ravioli. if this ristorante was anywhere other than in the heart of federal hill it would have closed up within a week. the prices are crazy for the inferior food that is served. the atmosphere is very nice but the food and prices are not. there are so many other fantastic places on the hill with quality food. try somewhere else...

a store trying to become a restaurant. and doing a poor-to-fair job at both. what was a solid deli case of prepared foods are now 'nuked' in a microwave and called a dinner or lunch. frequently crowded and quality is inconsistent. the antipasto is a good choice for nitrate lovers!
