cosa nostra pizzeria

when we’re “feeling fancy” this is the go-to place. they have gourmet pizza options and great lunch specials. there is even a giant pizza- perfect for large groups. i’m still not positive that the pizzeria is just a store front for the local mob, but that’s just my imagination! my only issue is the pricing is higher than your typical dominoes or papa johns that you just grab on the way home from work, which is why we reserve it for “special occasions”.

i just had a very unpleasant experience with the owner. i had placed an order online through eatstreet.com in the past with no issues. today,i placed an order online and minutes after, i received a call from the owner of the restaurant asking for my address (which was already provided through eatstreet to them). when i provided my address, he immediately started arguing with me that they didn´t deliver "all the way there" (7 miles), while someone on the other side of the phone kept telling him "it's just here, it's by my house" i explained that in fact on october 18th they had delivered to my house and i could prove it through my profile on eatstreet and he kept just saying that is not possible in a very rude way, i told him if that was all he was going to keep on repeating then just don't bring it, and he yelled at me we are not going to bring it and hung up on me. i just called eatstreet to complain and they were able to confirm my order went through so now i will have to deal with the inconvenience of waiting for my refund. extremely disappointed. these kids need to learn the most elemental lesson in their business: customer is always right, just lost one.

bella. this place a absolutely amazing. the pizza is the best! the crust is always perfect and the toppings are so fresh our fave is the supreme pizza the sausage is soooo good. i love the salad dressings and amazing wine selections. you won't be disappointed ever. i dine here once a week.

here is what i liked about cosa nostra:
i can sit down and a waitress will take my order.
my wife liked the ceasar salad.
what i didn't like:
pizza was...meh.
i have found two very fine new york style pizza places here. miss ellie's and florio's. but i'm always looking.
and cosa nostra isn't one of them.
it's a kids pizza. a red baron type classic crust with very bland toppings. (sliced sausage)
i don't want to say i don't like it because any place that serves italian and i don't have to order from a counter is worth giving another try. but this time i will give either the stromboli or a calzone a try.
my wife liked the pizza but she was born here and doesn't know any better when it comes to new york style pizza. it takes more than a thin crust to give it that label.

they have a very friendly staff and a very tasty thin crust pizza that leaves no grease on the plate. the only thing missing here is dimmed lighting that would add to the atmosphere and show off a great bar design.

yummy pizza for sure!. looked on line for 'new york style' pizza places in san antonio. a couple were displayed, and since this one was a little closer to home than the other, we decided to give it a try. oh man, am i glad glad we did! this one hits the description of great new york style pizza right on the head! the pizza was delicious and the crust was something you don't leave behind either. done just right! when my wife and i finished that pizza, there was no evidence that it had ever existed. no crust bones, this is all good pizza! salads were also good. there was plenty of different beers on hand, but we had iced tea last night instead and it was also very tasty, not the watered down instant junk you often get in other places. service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. i like paying for good food instead of a fancy building and these people put the quality in their product plus keep this cozy little place sparkling clean. ( waitress was cute too guys!)

excellent, reasonably priced. this is a small, simple place where you wouldn't expect to get fantastic food....but you will! first, our server was very knowledgeable about the food and very nice. she was also able to remember our complicated order with many special requests without writing it down! then the food. crisp, fresh salads. the entrees: chicken marsala: divine! i meant to eat only half (it's a big serving) but i couldn't stop eating. shrimp nostra: also excellent. at many pasta places you can get pasta that has been improperly cooked or left to get sticky. not here. this was perfectly cooked and was sauced as soon as it was drained so it couldn't stick. the sauces were excellent. the shrimp and chicken properly cooked (not dry or tough like you get other places), tender and delicious. this is a little gem which you will be very happy to find out about. the pasta prices are very reasonable as they include the salad. the pizza might be a bit pricey but all reports we've gotten tell us it's excellent.

pepperoni, sausage, bacon, canadian bacon, beef, chicken jalepeno pizza with hot boneless wings. the wings were hot and so was the pizza. really tasty. random choice of the night and it was a good one.

love it. they do a great job...

so damn good!. we aren't ashamed - we eat there once a week. top tier food and uber-consistent. we have tried almost every pizza, most of the pastas, all of the apps and more than half the salads. you simply won't go wrong. hits: spicy meat n margherita pizza, italian sub, fried raviolis n hozerella sticks. every salad has been delish and a a meal (this coming from a 200 pound man not on a diet). weren't fans of the overly sweet bbq sauce on that pizza but that's been the only miss compared to 35+ other good to great dishes.

great food but why do they have five televisions all playing the same channel? put different channels on please. also , please put pads on the bottom of chair legs. awful squeaking noises thru out dinner from people sliding chairs in and out. super wait staff and delicious salads and pizza.

good pizza served in a nice, clean environment. they will struggle to survive if they don't improve their signage. visibility is terrible. like the previous pizza joint at this location... nobody knows they exist. good luck to the owners. enjoy!

nice sicilian sub! a little pricey, but will go back to try the lunch specials and pizza.
