cobb & co. rotorua

hubby and i were visiting rotorua and came across this classic bar and grill (seeing as we are from auckland we hadn't seen one in quite sometime) so we just walked in and even though they were fully booked the most polite hostess assured us a table within 30mins so we were kindly asked to wait in the bar area. not too long later we were called to a table and served straight away but another very polite waitress. she took our order promptly and within a few minutes we were already served our starter. we had the buffalo wings (not so big but still yummy) and soon after our mains came to the table. both hubby and i had the rump steak. cooked to perfection and the mushroom sauce was so delicious. we looked over at our neighbors dishes and they had ordered the ribs which looked amazing and huge! (must try next time. we really enjoyed our meals and they were super filling. would totally recommend this iconic restaurant. if i had to point out any flaws it would only be the presentation of our steak meals however all the other dishes we saw looked pretty good to us. thumbs up cobb & co. rotorua. your service was exceptional.

i've been here 5 times already the service and quality kept on deteriorating, tonight we had dinner there for a mate's birthday and we waited for almost 2 hours for our food. no one even came back to apologise for the wait and to tell us how much longer we have to wait or even just to see if there's anything else we need like another bottle of water atleast. considering they were not busy too. when our food arrived they were all cold even the sauce were cold. also i've noticed that their serving portions decreased. huge difference from when we first dined there to tonight's experience. not going back there anymore. and not to forget the guy who cleared our table didn't even say excuse at all to anyone, he just grabbed the plates didn't even say a word. however the lady who served us as well was so friendly and polite and enthusiastic just how a great hostess is, still not going back tho. not worth the money.

great family resturant, went on friday nite with a toddler, food was yummy we had a ceaser salad a burger and kidz meal, service was great, from order to table took 15mins, kids pack and play area was fantastic, place was clean and fresh. was reluctant to go at first, but has been modernized and decor revamped, would definitely go again! go job cobb inn co rotorua

i've never been to cobb & co in its heyday in the 90's so i was super excited to go. i went to cobb & co in july last year and came back raving it so dragged the bf back to cobb & co over the easter weekend. the experience over the easter was pretty disappointing compared to my first time and the bf, who's also never been to a cobb & co, came out with an underwhelmed "is that it?".

the restaurant seemed very understaffed for a busy holiday weekend with only one waitress, who's often nowhere to be found. we ordered a roast, ribs, a chicken blt burger and a cobb loaf. the roast was mediocre, about the same quality as you'd get from a retirement home. the ribs were pretty good, but then again it seems like rotorua is a town that really knows how to do ribs. the cobb loaf took forever to arrive and what should have been a starter ended up as a dessert. not gonna lie, the cobb loaf was probably the only thing that keeps me coming back.

we weren't told of a public holiday surcharge of 15% until we paid (seriously, who does that these days?!), then there's a surcharge on credit card payments! surcharge on surcharge should be made illegal.

fast service, delicious food, great customer service and family friendly!! definitely recommend this restaurant!

i have ordered the roast meal twice and both times the vegetables have been hard as a rock. the pork tastes like its been frozen. the broccoli and cauliflower wouldn't even cut with my knife. i only ordered the roast because the deli roast was closed. extremely over priced bland food. how hard is it to cook vegetables properly? omg! 🤦‍♀️

had a lovley meal at this restaurant i recommend the apricot chicken, very filling , my partner ordered the lamb rump steak which was lovely we both had salad in our meals and we didnt enjoy the salad dressing. the only disappointing thing was how very little the portion size of the hot chips was, for the price you pay for. the chips were served in this tiny basket dont be fooled by the image i have included to this review as this is a close up shot. the service was ok.

i always order the ribs for my grandpa, now if you know my grandpa, you would know that he is quite picky at times but these ribs have him hooked! delivery is also very efficient!

went last night with family for dinner. 5/5 stars - food was excellent, fresh and brought to you fast! didn't mind paying the price for food quality food and service!!. staff were prompt, friendly and dedicated to good service. place was clean and lovely table dining area with private cubicle areas. will be back gain

food was fantastic. but dale and dylan were even better. they deserve a pay rise for sure!! it’s awesome to see that your staff enjoy their job as that reflects on their service level. and dale and dylan definitely stood out. thankyou you two for an amazing dining experience!

steak is not hot... so cold... even chips are hotter than steak...not grilled 1 second grilled and go to oven for warm

food was good, except for the cauliflower which was raw, and hard. took over an hour to arrive .also our plates were not cleared after each course, and they just put out food down amongst it. had to ask for them to be cleared. reception staff were very friendly and professional

i am a little disappointed at the outcome of the meals i ordered, i ordered the roast meal, it came cold and mostly chewy fat. the staff were nice but took a very long time when we were ready to be served and when we were ready to pay. i believe that for over $100 worth of food the meals were horrible. not to happy on my side.

food came an hour late, cold and wasn’t very nice in my opinion!? unfortunately still got fully charged. 😕 staff weren’t friendly when being serviced too. wouldn’t recommend

food well below expectations considering the high price paid. burger patty seemed to be out of a bulk pack of meat patties you can get from pack and save. same with the soup of the day and the fries. buffalo wings are not real buffalo wings. felt like i got ripped off going here, will never go back. if i wanted burger quality and chips quality on par with a $6 fish and chip takeaway shop burger i would go there.
