yikes. typically i love coasters, there is agoodselection of beer and the food is pretty good. unfortunately the service last night was really, really horrible. a friend and i overheard a server complaining we were ordering just beer and "standing around"- the benches were wet from rain. we sat outside and it was raining pretty hard after an hour or so, so we came in and apparently that's ridiculous and really annoying. the hostess was rude and i caught probably 3 different employees rolling their eyes. it's unacceptable. if you don't care about feeling like you're inconveniencing your server, and eye rolls don't bother you, by all means give it a shot.

good burger... but. in my experience reviewing restaurants, i considered coasters to be the "go to" place to grab a burger for lunch and enjoy agoodbrew. buy the coaster burger and add your toppings and be happy. i would hit this place up any chance i got. called today and found that they are now charging for toppings. ruins the mystique. nobody in their right mind thinks that a slice of cheese costs 50 cents. i was told over the phone it was because of the cost of resources that they nixed their signature offering. the burger is great but not 11 dollars great. hit up any of the many options around them but i can't recommend coasters based upon price. if they charged 9.50 for a build your own maybe... but it seems pretty clear that they are reinventing themselves. beware... nickle and dime nickle and dime.

good food andgoodbeer. the service can be hit or miss but the food and beer are worth the wait. the wings, burgers, and beef on wick are all some of my favorites in the area.

nice place to eat and watch sports.. service is prompt. this place nails the dishes with meat in them(sandwiches, fish, and shrimp dishes are really good). the sides are very average. beer selection offers agoodlevel of variety. this is prettygoodfood for a pub and it is a reallygoodplace to watch a game.

we have been here several times. service has been fair at best on the other four times. food is good...every time we have went. i waited to see if the service would get better and the answer is no. this place has been around a while and i am sure they know how to run a business. i would just question how they do it with a wait staff that is clearly spread too thin.

tonight we could not get another drink. period, it just was not happening. i would go on but i am not going to waist my time or yours. bad service!

i hope your experience is better than ours. the food will begoodbut best of luck with everything else.

loveexiticwomen. i love the wings at coasters they offer a spicy but very flavorfull called the hot gargoyle that is not on the menu. i usually go there on a saturday for lunch and the bartender joey is extremally knowledgeable about all the beers they offer as they have i believe over 120 beers at any given time and they change some of the beers out every month so you can sample an ounce or two at n/c and also their menu is a great variety and the food is exceptionally fresh and made to order. a great sports bar with agoodstaff i hightly recommend coasters !!

disappointed. place was advertised as having all these exotic beers on tap.. actually they had maybe 12 rotating beers on tap, the rest were the usual suspects. food was in the same or equal category to a beef o brady's, nothing special. if you want a place that serves agoodselection of beer go to world of beer in viera. nothing special here, won't go back.

great ale but verbally abusive barmaid. some great beers & ales here and edible food. one of their barmaids can be a pain in the drain (more later).

they have a very small oven - food orders can be backed up on busy nights for 30 minutes. pizza crust is lousy but their sandwiches are fine. fish and chips are very fishy flavor (never again!). except for an occasional dead-beat bar-fly type , it's generally agood"higher end" upbeat clientele from a diverse social-economic demographic. you'll find flaming liberals, neocons/conservatives, libertarians and anarchists and "just give peace a chance" kinds here. all are usually (amazingly) well behaved and laid back. because of that diversity be prepared to have "interesting" random conversations at the bar that can range from typical bar talk (bawdy, sports & local gossip) to rocket science, philosophy and theology. that is, if the bartender is not monopolizing the conversation and interjecting her opinions (whatever happened to the old bartender rule - "a bartender should be seen but never heard?").

on that proceeding point, if you wantgoodfree entertainment (and have the rare fortitude to take the abuse & insults) try to catch one of their older female bartenders ("sheryl") in one of her "many splendered moods". in one instant her gruff manner can be tolerable and congenial (in her own "special" way) then a moment later (or the next time you come in) she can go from dr. jekyl to mr. hyde. the roller coaster ride can be either fun or brutal as it "coasts" from a sarcastic and flippant or cold indifferentism and descends rapidly into the dreaded verbally-abusive mode. so, if she does not like you for whatever reason de jure (or becomes stressed at the high pour rate - which is quite often) she will become very catty & "punish you" to make her sentiments conspicuous. so, on such occassions be prepared to sit at a filty bar top with no service for a long time waiting for "your slot" in her pecking order to come up before you are even acknowledged (i.e. when she's done asking everyone-else at the bar if they want anything even though they have full pints in their hands and food in front of them).

coasters is an "interesting" clash of cultures - but what would anyone expect from a place that caters to the blue-collar bud-light sort sitting side by side with: craft ale drinkers, wine sippers and the red-bull jagger bomber crowd? cheers...

there is nothinggoodi can say about the service and food. we tried to get 1 sampler of a beer which is not uncommon, the waitress responded with "when the bartender gets time." really? my food came back over cooked and slightly burnt and my husbands burger cane back too rare to eat. we would have sent it back if the waitress ever came back to check on us. two thumbs down and a rotten tomato.

great beer selection, food selection improving. edit 2/5/12: more power to these guys. they started getting competition from world of beer, so they started their own loyalty program ($10 gc w every $100? spent). they've also built a gorgeous biergarten out back. and, they've added an exotic-meat burger that's getting great reviews (just covered in florida today last week). my opinions: their rotating beer taps are more obscure than world of beer. as someone on beer advocate said, where can you go that has both bud light and abt 12 standard? i like the crab cakes, exotic burger, hubs club (not the giant size), and the fish wrap or sandwich for taste and being slightly healthier than other pub food. everything else is typical fare, though the regular beef burgers are tastily decadent. their theme months or weekends (belgian, british, german) bring in somegoodmenu variations too.

i've never had a problem with the bartenders here, but i'm a regular and i don't talk down to them. i've seen them be short with people, but usually because they're high-maintenance customers. as the other reviewer said, the crowd is diverse and the conversation can be too.
