2 vegetable dum biryani

the most horrible staff you will ever come across. we went for a family outing and despite mentioning on multiple occasions that we are vegetarians and everything is supposed to veg , we were served spaghetti bolognese instead of spaghetti arabiatta . we asked them what it was, their staff assured us that it’s vegetable mince . when we still weren’t convinced , another person came and told us that it’s dried sauce . they prepared a second dish and when it was clear that both are different , they still refused to admit their mistake . when we asked for manager and the chef , they deliberately waited for everyone in the restaurant to leave and then also instead of being apologetic , they still were making excuses . when the manager came and we asked to speak to their superiors , they corresponded on call with some mr sushant who did not even bother to speak to us and said that tell them we are sorry . this is the level of their staffs’ discourteous , incompetent behavior . never had we ever had such an experience ever. if there was an option of giving negative rating i would have surely given one .

what a beautiful restaurant , one must visit to this this restaurant if you are in udaipur .. it’s most famous for its roof top ambiance , from which you see the entire beautiful udaipur .

i took one point bez they had the setting of dinner in the closed area bez they were expecting rains , after requesting multiple time , that if it rains we would shift inside but they would not listen , we had come all the way from mumbai to experience the view but they would not care , they were to lazy to arrange for the guest .
but ya they were smart enough to charge for as per the menu charges , than have heart to get some discounts to the clients than ..

manchow soup was really good , one much taste it , really good one .

pizza , we asked for the base to be made extra crispy , and they took care of it perfectly , the waiters was very polite to ask me plz taste if it was as per the requirement or she would make it a new one ...
really nice customer service ...

ambiance :- the pool area and low light arrangement is worth the visit .

food out here is really nice , it’s a must must visit place .

i just took 2 points only if they took extra efforts to arrange the tables outside when it was not raining.

the location of this restaurant is amazing it has the best view of udaipur and city palace.
food is good and staff is polite.
but the service is at low point.

i went here this saturday with my friends since i heard a lot about the great food and ambience here. and yeah the ambience was really good with the view of lake pichola on one side and the city on the other. but i was disappointed with the service and taste. we ordered potato gratin and baked vegetable for starters; paneer butter masala, garlic naan, dal makhni, jeera rice and pineapple raita for the main course. the food was satisfactory in taste as all the items were sweet. the service was poor as the cutlery was not replaced after the starters, saucer dishes were not changed and we even had to ask the waiter to get us salt and pepper. and the worst part, they serve mineral water only and that too ₹60 a bottle. food quality and quantity was not up to the mark. i would suggest them to atleast improve the service and start keeping regular water.

chunda palace showcase the best of heritage with hand painted walls and ceilings. this palace & it's architecture looks magnificent. it's hard to find a palace-dining place like this. this boutique hotel is literally gold for tourist and diners. another major attraction is the swimming pool or rather i'd say it gives you a 'jal-mahal' kind of feel. the way this pool with a small waterfall is built having the heritage background gives you a picture you can't forget.
this place offers three kinds of dining arrangements i.e. the royal cuisine restaurant and bar, jannat rooftop dining and jarokha dining(for couples). the restaurant dining gives you a palace-dine feel. we dined at the rooftop and seriously​ with the summer breeze and the 360 view, you'll feel an aura that is unmatchable. the rooftop doesn't have any light except the candle on your table so if you need utmost privacy and true feel of candle light dinner then a definite yes!

the menu doesn't include a lot but something for everyone. my order included the following -
1. veg crispy (1/5) - the worst veg crispy ever tried with unbearable salt and burnt hard veggies.
2. cannelloni parmegiana (4/5) - pasta sheets or filled pasta rolls in white sauce and cheese.
3. potato gratin (1/5) - i think the chef doesn't know how to prepare this dish. just some boiled potato slies in white sauce.
4. achari paneer tikka (5/5) - the perfect achari tikka with fresh cottage cheese, veggies and right mix of spices.
5. kadhai paneer (4/5) - too good if you need a mild spiced paneer in tomato gravy with onions and capsicum.
6. navratna korma (4/5) - varied kinds of veggies in white creamy sweet gravy. loved it!
7. dal tadka (5/5) - the best dal tadka ever tried.
8. breads (4/5) - naan, kulcha, tandoori roti and lacha parantha - all were good and were cooked live.
9. pineapple raita (4/5) - yummy!

to roll up, chunda palace and it's architecture is enough to numb your senses by it's beauty. for the food, my experience says they are not good in the preparation of starters and international cuisines else the main course is literally much better. bit expensive but worth the bucks.

so i have been here ample of times. each time the food, service and the ambience is on point.
this time i visited after a long time and saw a lot of changes which was nice.
we reserved a table on the rooftop with the lake view.
the location is perfect with the city palace view and the lake pichola.(10/10)

i was very excited when i took my guests here.
they loved the property.
the food presentation is not amazing (5/10)

service and staff (6/10) definitely needs improvement.

so moving on to the food. we ordered the following:-

1)in soup we ordered
>apresaki- this soup had a very nice taste and could taste the fresh basil and the macroni in the soup. the soup doesn't come with bread. so if you want you need to order it separately. (10/10)

2)in pizza we ordered pizza tex-mex. it was a nice thin crust pizza. there was nothing special about it but the taste was good with lots of veggies. (9/10)

3) next was palace cheese toast. these were basic cheese toast but the taste of the bread was very nice. it was soft but crunchy with lots of cheese. (9/10)

4) the pasta had a authentic taste. we ordered penne arabiata. the sauce of the pasta was done to perfection and i totally enjoyed eating it. (10/10)

5)vegetarian casserole. this tasted nice and had a unique taste. i really enjoyed this. (9/10)

the service was horrible though.
when we asked for breads with soup they got it after the soup was finished and went cold.
when they served pizza we asked for chilli flakes and oregano which was given when the pizza was over.
we had to call out loudly for the waiter each time we needed something.
they really need to work on their service and quickness.

i would definitely go back for the view but there are other hotels with similar view.
they need to work on staff service.

on a recommendation of one of my friend i visited this place for a dinner with my fiance. and it stood as per my expectations as soon u reach its roof top restaurant you will be mesmerized by it's view.
then staff is too courteous and upto the standards of a 5 star rating restaurant.
food i ordered penne arbiata and aubergine timbale with cheese and both were great... giving true italian taste.

ambiance has less rating as they can improve that area as it's too plain according to the view and level of hotel it is... which would be a cherry on the view they are getting.
table booking is preferred and best is the pichola side corner table.

the panner achari tikka is awesome in taste.. the service is slow though we have to wait for atleast 1 hour for the dinner.. the ambience n view are also amazing .. plus it the had the discount of ub life card also so the place is must visit when u are in udaipur..

royal cuisine by chunda palace is a great place to have a decent party and to have a feel of royalty as the interior of the restaurant looks like a rajasthani mahal and ambience is also good now coming to food the taste is average similar to other restaurant and the main negative point is service which is very slow not even this type of service you will find in ordinary restaurant you have to wait more for everything from food to billing, it will take a lot of time

let me first make one thing clear.... the chunda palace is a marvelous property with its own rich heritage.... the view from the property takes you to another level... but now lets talk about restaurant.... firstly at 4 star hotel's restaurant i was treated to a wobbly table, then was given a plate that showcased their hygiene standard as mine was higher than there's i demanded a more cleaner plate.... we went there for a family celebration (16 pax) & no need to say the view got our hopes high & food made that hope to jump from there to die... we ordered kadhai paneer, dal fry, bundi raita, papad & bread basket.... after the pathetic setting i was greeted with bundi raita that went sour more than it was suppose to be.... the management unwillingly changed that, which came after the main course was over.... the paneer was half cooked, the gravy was not up to the mark & for the first time ever i got to hear that a 4 star restaurant was out of fresh dal bowls so they got us soup bowl to put dal fry in it..... bread at this point of time didn't matter most but they were at least better than the rest of food.... attitude of waiters is not upto the mark maybe because we were locals & were not staying at their hotel....

“a hidden fine dining gem”

there are many place to eat in udaipur at different price and quality levels but chunda palace is a real hidden fine dining gem. we had seen the menu on zomato and asked for a reservation. as the weather was unusually cool and very windy, we asked if they could book a table inside. as it turned out, "inside" consisted of a huge restaurant with vies of th lake outside.the kitchen was next door. after we were feeling a little warm we decided to sit in the alcoves outside. the chef had some excellent suggestions and couldn't have been more welcoming and personable; making suggestions when asked and finding us an absolutely amazing bottle of red wine. the food (we had some bruschetta, lamb chops ) was both stunning to look at and beautiful to eat with a finesse and attention to detail that was a delight. a very memorable evening.

“great food with a view” 
during our stay in udaipur we visited quite a few restaurants yet chunda palace stood out for its quality of food and reasonable value. the restaurant serves multicuisine food and had great location overlooking the pichola. friendly and efficient staff, imaginative dishes and sensible prices make dining at the restaurant a very pleasurable experience indeed.

as expected the veiw is fabulous and you can spend hours to appriciate the beauty of udaipur city of lakes.....food is good and very low quantity and quality of food is not bad either...but need to improve consistency with food so they can justify with thier prices...
anyway the service and veiw captures your mind in mild winter that fully encore the place.....
