this establishment is an icon in binondo ,right across binondo church.it brings back childhood memories whenever i heard or eat at chuan kee,it became popular during the the late 70's and 80's especially among workers and employees who worked around the manila downtown area.however i think during the 90's ,there is a management change.
the food ,the food icons here are the kiampong ,maki, makimi ,chop chay, kamto ,gokong, the fish bola bola soup (my childhood favorite),the halo and their fruit and gulaman shakes.and now they offer more variety of dishes.
i went here last time to taste their kiampong and chop chay(mix innards soup).there is something missing in the taste of chop chay tho the kiampong still have the same distinct smoky flavor.overall the food tastegoodbut there is something lacking.
ambiancewise still the same,will i come back?of course !
