chop shop

great food! great service!. stopped in today for the first time. a very casual eatery. was greated by our server who was very helpful! we tried out the chili and was surprised and pleased with how good it was. ordered a hamburger and fries and a rueben sandwich. my husband hasn't tasted a rueben that good outside of a pittsburgh deli in many many years! the hamburger was also very good. one of the best i've ever had. looked over themenuand plan on coming again really soon to try out more items! highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the butler downtown area!!!!!!

yum. the chop shop is pretty cool. the food is excellent and the service is good. themenuhas some unusual items (funnel cakes, a bacon sandwich fried in lard, asian-inspired salads) but the old standards are there also. i heard someone ask for something not on themenufor breakfast and the kitchen made it for them. i heard it's family-run, too.

usually disappointing. the food is ok, but definitely not the hype it receives. to make it worse, they changed themenuand took off things that i used to enjoy. table placement is definitely cramped and the experience will go straight downhill if you get seated at the first booth to the left as soon as you walk in.

no chance to even try. never had a bad meal here before, but this time didn't even get to try anything. it was a friday night so we waited for like 10 minutes for a table, no problem. then we sat and looked at themenufor another 10 minutes and our server never came by. the hostess came by and said she would take our drink orders and we asked her a few questions about the soup of the day, her response was "i don't know what the soup is", and on some of the specials, which she then told us that they were out of a few dishes listed.

i don't know about you but my pet peeve is items being listed that the restaurant doesn't have.. either mention it as soon as i sit or put a piece of tape over it so i don't get interested in something you don't have.

she brought our drinks back and said our server would be with us in a moment, we had yet to see our server. we waited another 15 minutes and no one ever came by to take our order so we left.

i'm hoping this is just a one time occurance because their food is so good and i was hoping my out of town guests would get to try.

best place in butler!. if only they did dinner too!

this place is great! their bunch is one of the best in the area with roast beef, yummy pancakes, potatoes, and fresh fruit.

their lunch is yummy! sandwiches are always overstuffed and you always leave full for such reasonable prices. the staff and owner are so friendly.

they offer catering too. can't wait to have an event and hire them!

best lunch in butler. chef bill is a culinary genius. i have been going here weekly for almost a year and i never get tired of the food. the atmosphere is fun and themenuwill make you laugh. i recommend the sausage wallet and get around sandwiches.

just two words...(to begin). funnel cakes. anytime of the day. love it. themenuis creative, playful, and thoughtful. the food is fresh, delicious, and generous. the decor is way cool for butler. for a little town going to hell in a handbasket--this place is really leading the way with a freakin' klieg light showing what is needed to save butler. no joke. young people in the arts, restauranting, and shopkeeping...

they now have dinner service on friday and although i have not been (yet)--the menus they are publishing on their fb page are super awesome.

a great little restaurant. go there.

the shop is really great folks. to keep it brief, everything on themenuis great. personally, i like the daily specials. the atmosphere is great and my kids enjoy going there too. owners are great people. check it out. you won't be disappointed.

food is delish! we have ordered chop shop for lunch a handful of times--each time i order something different and i'm never not completely satisfied. love the chips w.boursin cheese!

since i've only ever had takeout, i can't comment on the shop itself or atmosphere but i look forward to going soon.

was in butler for the day and stumbled upon this place. food was very good and cool atmosphere. be sure to read themenuin it's entirety, it's cleverly written and funny. i had the cannibal sandwich, it's a fitting name since it is pork stuffed with pork. my coworker had the crab cake sandwich and said it was very good as well. was able to speak with the owner and found out they had been doing catering for a while and decided to open a restaurant. i don't know much about butler, pa, but if you ever find yourself near main st, please be sure to give them a try. i don't think you'll be disappointed.

most interesting place in butler. this place is really unique and i can't believe it's in butler. themenudescriptions are hilarious! i went for breakfast and had the croissant french toast - very yummy! will definately go back for lunch and their new sunday brunch sounds good too. would like to see some better salads and maybe some healthy or lite fare on the menu, but definitely a keeper for this area. it's about time!
update: went back for the sunday brunch and the chop shop did not disappoint! still shocked this place is in butler. you gotta check it out! they had delicious made to order omelettes, stuffed french toast, waffles, pastries, spinach salad, fresh fruit, ham, roast beef, andouille saugage gravy and biscuits, bacon and sausage, etc. everything i tried was yummy! i'll be back for lunch:)

good eats. becoming addicted to their food. has not been open very long, but developing a growing clientèle. may be the most entertainingmenui've ever read (check it out on facebook). the staff is very friendly, fast service and great food! planed on working my way through the menu, but hard not to reorder something when it is so good. it is a local family business. also heard they are adding sunday brunch, starting next week, to their business hours.
