this is a phenomenal, magical local gem. chosen at random (although any spot filled with chocolate is a beacon for foodies), i was blown away by the treasure that it is. grand coffee, cosy and eclectic atmosphere, chocolate to (almost but not in a literal way) die for. wow. free and fast wifi is always a bonus i can live with too. i will most certainly be back for more.

best carrot cake i've ever tasted and a big portion that was worth the price. also had a bite the cheesecake which was fresh and delicious. i was also very pleased with a great cup of coffee to balance the sweet overdose of the cakes.

thumbs up for the barista that took the time to impress us with his coffee art.

friendly and helpful staff.

the place was neat and cosy. great overall experience

being the chocoholic that i am, the name "chocolate et café" caught my attention immediately and just knew i had to visit this place. needless to say, this was my 2nd visit to this quaint little café nestled away between culture club and alfie's in the village. it's such a relaxed vibe and one can sit either outside or inside. have to admit this time was just as good and pleasant as the 1st time. we decided to have breakfast and cappuccinos which was absolutely delicious. i ordered the savoury open omelette with aubergine, pesto, sundried tomato and feta cheese...oh yum! the presentation was beautiful and couldn't wait to tuck in. it was absolutely gorgeous, tasty and well worth the price. the staff is friendly and the service good. couldn't really fault anything. the cakes and handcrafted chocolate truffles are an absolute must and they taste as good as they look, totally delectable ... will definitely go again soon.

chocolat et café is in the beautiful new development 'the village'. it is such a lovely setting with friendly service.

a lot of exciting treats available. the coffee was nicely done with different cute designs for each cup. the food was nice and very well presented. 🍰

just like all the other outlets in this area, you would not easily find this place from the street. its a nice little place and you can see that everything here is made with love and awesomeness.

you can also order cakes a day in advance.

hot chocolate is theeeeee best because it's actually chocolate thats been melted and not the powdery ones served at other places. the belgian waffles are decent too... i shall return to maybe sample the food but the desserts were good....

in the most beautiful setting of "the village", chocolat et café offered us nothing but the most delicious sweet treats and heart-warming cappuccino!

a quaint café with beautifully presented treats and a large range of belly-warmers when looking for somewhere new to go.

relaxed place.
excellent food. 😋
bought cake to take home. giant slice.

our waitress was in a bad mood, snapped at me when i asked her to wipe down our dusty table before we could look at the menu.

place is not cheap but, for the food and peace,it's worth it.

terrible service, and incredibly expensive. r180 for two, if one person eats and the other watches. there were also flies everywhere.

cloudy tuesday morning, omg 😍 i never knew french toast could taste soo good, sweet and savory served with strawberries and chocolate, talk about breakfast heaven. this little gem is absolutely beautiful. i’d definitely go again on a sunny day.

good setting for small tables. however, zero customer satisfaction at heart. the owner is quite pleased to lose future business by refusing over 12 guests to take away very small amounts of cake, after paying around r70 each. not recommended at all.

manager was quite happy to lose our table of 15 customers for future business. she refused us takeaways without disclaiming it before orders and insisted it was written on the facebook page (as if we’re going to check their facebook page before going there 😂). lovely venue and cake, but won’t be returning purely due to the manager’s attitude.

in my opinion, the absolute number one place to go for the freshest, most delicious cakes in pretoria.

lovely, uncomplicated setting with the cutest blue chairs and tables that will make you feel like you're having tea time in rural france. maybe not that captivating, but still wonderful.

the drinks menu is extensive and suits every tea-,coffee-,juice- and indulgence-lover.

show-stopping cakes include: the carrot cake, the lamington cake and the choclate cake.

a must for everytime i'm in pretoria.
