chiang mai thai restaurant

rude manager. food is ok but the manager was soooooooooooo rude. she honored my groupon but was a real jerk about it. nowhere in the fine print did it say we were limited to the dinner menu and tip was included. my boyfriend and i asked if we could pull out a separate bill and order $30+ worth of full priced extra food from thelunchmenu. at first she was perfectly happy about it and put in our order. she changes her mind and comes back 10 minutes later. i kept asking our server whats wrong about not using our groupon for some other items; he would just come back and say "sorry, my manager says it's not ok." it was a bit pricey as well; $7 curry puffs, $11 pad see ew/pad thai. did not refill my water once. i find thai restaurants usually have the best service and kindest servers, but not at this place.. was not worth the drive from st. pete and i'll just continue to eat at thai am.

long story short, curry puffs great, pad thai/pad see ew mediocre, worst management i've ever seen at a thai restaurant.

forced to order off dinner menu to use a groupon. had a groupon to use. only restriction was that you must dine in and cannot be used for specials or fourth fridays. restaurant would not let us order off thelunchmenu. so it cost us $10 more but it cost them a customer and who knows how many people will read this. food did not taste good after this experience. they also have signs up in the dining area stating that they may choose to impose a 15% tip for parties of less than five regardless of the service. 20% for parties of five or more. regardless of service?

the bi-weeklylunchmeeting was at chiang mai in downtown clearwater today. it's one of those upscale-looking places that is probably expensive in the evenings (don't know, never been there for dinner!), but caters to the downtown bus

greatlunchvalue, too!. aside from the yummy pad thai, they also have an awesome panang chicken! the atmosphere is very authentic and elaborate and the service is great. theirlunchmenu is a great value with generous portions, plus soup! as a side note, they also have sushi and it's surprisingly fresh and tasty!

great forlunchor dinner. my family loves the amazing beef and the chicken panang at chiang mai. we eat here very often, and the new management has really done a good job of fixing some issues with the service. the bento boxes forlunchare a great value, as are all of thelunchspecials -- and they are served *very* quickly. the decor is lovely, the space is, well, spacious for downtown cw and the location right on cleveland is very convenient since i work downtown.
