huge portions, great flavor. i had the "bull dog" and was amazed at the size of this sub. this thing had to have about half a pound of sliced beef on top of a sausage. if you decide to get this make sure to add some of the fresh horseradish, but be careful it's hot. the smoke flavoring on the beef was just right. the sides could use some portion adjustments. a small side comes in a 2-3 oz. container, or a large is 8-10 oz. the baked beans are over priced at 3.80 for a small side, don't get me wrong they are good, but not that good. i was surprised to see the green beans were more like a greek / mediterranean style, that was cooked in stewed tomatoes.

yeah, this place is worth the trip. despite the locale. yeah adam richman never mentioned that it's in the parking lot of a strip club or an adult entertainment shop across the street but so be careful, chaps is the only place in charm city where you actually want to eat the beef between two buns. that said, i only got the pit beef sandwich on a kaiser roll. ordered the beef medium rare. i topped it with horseradish and mayonnaise. salt and pepper. it was awesome. flavorful. meat was tender, not fatty. my only regret was not having a more substantial bun. should have had the bun toasted or had the beef on a sub roll. i'm in quantico now. thinking of driving back for another sandwich tomorrow, but alas it's easter sunday and they're closed. that's how good it was.

i've been in love with this place for about four years. i've only ever had the pit beef, which they'll make to yer specification--i always get it rare. it is very flavourful as others have said. their fries with gravy are the bomb. i do not like their mac and cheese too much. after reading other reviews i'm now interested in other types of sangwiches from here. also, if you go during the typical lunch and rush hours, expect a worthwhile wait, sometimes just to get to the front door. go here!

the joint operates out a small shack-like building located in the parking lot of a gentleman's club, and across the street from an adult video store. perhaps its modest digs is how it can keep its prices so low - but we'll get to that in a bit. when we arrived at about 6:00 p.m. we were pleasantly surprised to find a short line to order, and plenty of indoor seating. don't get me wrong, the dining area is not huge; but it was more than adequate at the time of our visit. the one thing that caught us off guar

bright side of the armpit. good food. crowded. most of the people are the critters that populate the rt 40 corridor. some sandwiches are perfect other meat combo sandwiches just don't mesh unless you are a swamp thing.

peek into the kitchen and watch the whole meat operation as you wait for your order - it's kinda fascinating and it makes you excited/hungry/anxious for your sandwich.

go for the sub. awesome meat, not so good bun. if i were to do it again, and i'm sure i will, i'd get the sub vs the sandwhich. the sandwhich bun was dry and fell apart when you ate it. definately go heavy on the tiger sauce.

best ever...period.. the wife and i stopped through baltimore on our way to williamsburg, va from the philly area. we saw the triple d episode highlighting chaps. we had to go! it was worth the decision to stop. without a doubt, the best pit beef ever! it was was incredible, the smoke flavor, plus the amount of goodness was huuuuuuuge. anyone traveling in or around the baltimore area, a must stop! i am ready to make a trip just to grub there again.

everything you've heard is true. great hidden gem in baltimore. they'll cook the meat for your sandwich just the way you want it. (the charcoal grill gives everything a fantastic flavor.) then they pile it high and you put your own toppings on. don't miss the tiger sauce! there's occasionally a wait but definitely worth it! i'm not a fan of the fries though. fortunately the subs are so big, you don't need anything else.

baltimore food. this place is baltimore. the food is great, the people are rude, short and all walks of life eat here. it's out front of a strip club, so if you're out of town, you might pass it up. but it's very much worth the wait that usually occurs during lunch. love this place!

the thing that i like the most about this place is that you can request to have your meat cooked to the doneness of your choice.
