cattleman's kitchen - bosheuvel country estate

great restaurant! loved the atmosphere, loved theplaceand food was good and the self brewery beer was a real winner! will be going back soon!

so after book marking this spot for a a while i finally took my son and my missus there

firstly having the beef on the premises and the abattoir to some might be a put off but knowing this to me makes me even more happier as it's super fresh

i woke up this morning craving meat and didn't for the first time in my life want to braai so opted
for the short drive (about 15-20min depending on traffic from northern suburbs), when we
got there there service started off great but as theplacegot
busy (and around 2pm was packed) the waiter kinda went mia a little but he did tell me it was due to a few waitrons not showing up (so benefit of the doubt given)

okay food time - we had the carpaccio starter which was outstanding real nice thick pieces of meat, i ordered my son the kiddies platter which was ribs, sausage, fish fingered and chicken strips along with chips and this was only 50 rand which i couldn't believe

i had the 500g t-bone and my wife had there chicken schnitzel which both were outstanding
asked for my meat medium rare and it came out spot on and was warm inside

they also have a gentleman playing music and is not over powering to the ear so one doesn't need to shout at each other apart from that they have a
micro brewery on site (score) so all around one hell of a nice spot

well done team cattleman's will def come back

i honestly do not know how thisplacegets a 3.7 rating.one of the worst experiences ever.we were seated outside and i suppose the reason being it is out in the country there is a million flies around, we had to ask for candles which was of no use by the way.we waited more than an hour for our order and to cap it all the so called premium beef isnt done justice if your portions are not consistent .we ordered 500g tbone each and the one was about halve the size of the other.both tables next to us also complained about the food/time.will never be back

a great tradisional plaas food restaurant,if you love steak and the outdoors a greatplaceto relax in a farm atmosphere close to the city the steak and hamburger dishes was great and affordable.r950 for 4 .real "kuier plek" .staff was great

not the greatestplaceto be honest. inedible jalapeño poppers, they were so hot that we were in physical pain from eating them. the ribs were tough and tasteless. not great.

a good outdoorplacethough the drive to get to theplaceis not the smoothest.
the food is decent...but the flies were a nuisance the day we were there

been meaning to visit here for months now, and really happy i finally did.
set amongst a working farm, with a real outdoors feel, this work in progress is a real winner in the area.
the service is good and if you are a carnivore, then this is theplaceto be.
the bar is well equipped and they even have a craft brewers selection with 2 brands i've never tried before and both will have me returning.
we were a party of 3 and decided to try the meat plate for 3 and there was more than enough to satisfy all.
looking forward to my next visit, even if it's just to the craft section

if you are into craft beers then this littleplaceis a definite to tick off the list. with a range of 5 different home made beers to choose from. the food is pub grub type food with really good potato wedges.
