riverwi. made plans to "try" tucanos brazilian grill before catching american hustle at edwards theater. on our way we passed casablanca cuban grill and commented that i never saw the place before, and made a mental note of it. fast forward to tucanos .... my hunch that we were about to enter a hectic theme park - my girlfriend called it cheesecake factory in disguise - was validated. holy crap. now what? .... oh yeah, back to casablanca. immediate good vibe upon entering. quiet, cozy, unpretentious. refreshing, after admittedly focusing too much attention lately on downtown boise's's portland wannabe style, and and paying those prices. our sweet, friendly hostess/waitress took care of us and made us feel like we were at home - her home. in cuba. then the food ... it was great. and cheap!! go. just go. this is a place that should be patronized not just for an authentic food experience, but for an authentic from-the-heart experience. tucanos ..... what were we thinking?
