bad taste!. not from the food, but the service.
we travelled all the way from durham due to purchasing a $20 living social coupon for $10. should have saved the gas and eaten at a better mexicanplaceon 54; it was crowded and busy; that's fine, but youplaceyour order and pay; the guy who took the order seemed impatient despiet our being prepared and concise ( i ordered for 3 of us). i ordered very clearly but he either didn't listern or couldn't e couldn't hear b/c of acoustic/noise and seemed annoyed. then came the personality-less cashier, who snatched the coupon from me and gave not one word of acknowledgment. we sat outside and when i came back to ask whether i needed to come back in for order (grilled fish), he was quite aggressive - very odd. if they're too busy, they should hire more help, but don't act like you're doing the customer a favor! to add insult to injury, the fish was mediocre. salsas were great, but overall this is a priceyplacefor self-serve - they even want you to scrape your plates on the other side of the restaurant! we son't be going back.

i had lived in durham/chapel hill area for 8years and heard about carrborito often. when visiting back i finally went and was disappointed. granted i got the tostada instead of the burrito but the carnitas were flavorless. the salsa fresca was fair but we ordered chips and salsa (paid extra) and the salsa was only given for the chips and not nearly enough for the salad. the dish was really bland and to be stingy with the salsa was sad. then i ordered a horchata to find out that they cut it with milk (no dairy for me) which was not mentioned on the advertising when they said a rice drink which is not how it is supposed to be made. even hole in the wall mexican places don't cheap out this way. all in all, it did not live up to the hype and there is a way betterplacein durham 10 miles up 15-501 (nnt for short). wish we had gone that direction instead. it's cheaper and has a salsa/fixings bar.

fresh, fresh, fresh! bring your appetite, the portions are generous! quality and consistency are high! great service! it's tucked in a tightplaceso don't stop till you have those fish tacos on tour plate!

however, the headliner at thisplaceshould be their salsas. they have six options to choose from, and as they say on their menu, every salsa has its own fan club. their salsas are all made in house and taste incredibly fresh. if you have an inkling to venture out, their salsa frutas may quickly become your number one goto, happened to me. in fact, the last time i visited, i was pouring that rich salsa on my burrito until it was leaking through the tortilla. i’ll never apologize.

hipster fail. i second an earlier review when i say that no burrito establishment should ever ask me to choose between beans and rice. thats like five guys asking you to choose between the patty and the bun. ridiculous. classic hipster move- less ingredients for more.

yea the ingredients are fresh, and the chips are divine, but you have to wade through some knee-deep bs to get them. i'll take armadillo grille over thisplaceany day.

best burrito in the triangle hands down. if you like el rodeo this isn't theplacefor you. carrburritos is not the joint to get a 64 oz mtn dew and a plate full of refried mush and shredded lettuce.

it is however theplaceto get fresh and delicious mexican food. the mejor burrito with pollo mexicana filling is my favorite, followed closely by the fish burrito.

not great. i wasnt impressed by carrburritos. i dont live near there so it was a drive to get there and i expected more. it's no better than moe's or any other burritoplaceand the restaurant is about a fifth of the size. also they don't have fountain drinks. maybe im spoiled by fountain drinks but it ticked me off to pay a dollar for a can of soda. the only good thing i can say about it is the variety of salsa's available.

pricey but good. coming from california thisplacefeels a bit expensive but once you get down the line and get to choose from all those delicious home made salsas, all is forgiven
