was looking for a caribbean cuisineplacein central n dallas area, and caribbean cafe popped up. the us reviews spoke highly of the food, and caribbean cafe did not disappoint.
we started w/ the ceviche de camarones, which included carrots and yucca along w/ traditional avocado, red onion. delightful. i had the house salad, arroz moro (black beans w/ rice and spices--very flavorful), and the yucca con moro (yes, yucca in another style besides frita. this is a rarity among latino restaurants, very good.) dinner compadre had bistec encebollado, red beans, and plantains tostones, which they said was all authentic and tasty.
service was okay. neither stellar nor horrible. waitress was genuinely friendly and good overall, just a little intermittent at times (leading to empty drink glasses).
